Raymond - Molecular Control - 12:11 am - Empire State Building

Without any further maintenance to keep it in shape, the Empire State Building had gone downhill fast, and that suited Raymond just fine. Doors and windows had long since stopped being an option for him, he hated the thought of being seen entering or leaving a building. But the pipes in this one were cracked and rusted, and few would suspect much of the hissing of some gas escaping from a broken pipe. At the very least, he would ensure that there would be nothing for them to investigate.

The barely visible cloud that was Raymond bunched together and drifted across to the door. There was no one beyond, but there was a wind running through the corridors - something that could seriously hamper his movements through the building. The transmission he had heard had somehow regarded Blackwood, and being blown into the faces of the professor's minions was not high on Raymond's to do list.

The cloud suddenly twisted itself into a more human shape, then solidified. Raymond shook his head a little and dusted off his jacket. Then, drawing his tanto, he began to edge through the building, poised to change states of matter again at the first sign of trouble. Every so often, he'd stop to peer through the grimy or broken glass of an office door, checking for both lurking enemies, or the supply of Prophase that was supposedly hidden in this place.

The soft crunch of glass around the next corner caught Raymond's attention, and he immediately shifted into a liquid form, cursing himself for the slight splash. I wonder who that is, he thought, Probably one of Blackwood's people, better just lie low for the time being.

The liquid stayed totally still, barely visible beside the doorway Raymond was next to. Ahead, he saw a slight movement as a sillhouette walked past the corridor he was hiding in. It paused for a moment, turning to survey the area, gun drawn. He won't see me. Raymond assured himself, No one ever sees me. After a moment more, the figure turned and continued on its way once more, keeping its gun at the ready.

Raymond slowly flowed after it, keeping a safe distance from it. Perhaps they'll be able to lead me to the Prophase. Then when I get there, I can just stab them, grab some Prophase and get out before they even know what hit them. The plan seemed sound to his mind - in and out as fast as possible, with the massive benefit of a new stack of Prophase.

Mel

"Do you need any Prophase?" the girl asked.

"No." I said as coldly as I could. Was I the only clean person left in the world, the only person who wasn't a freak? Or maybe I was the freak, for not taking Prophase.

"What's you're name?" She asked after a minute. I took a deep breath, keeping the tears in my eyes.

"Melonie, you can call me Mel, though. Most of my friends used to. My family did, always." I hung my head for a minute, "And yours?"

"Shock," She answered simply, with no detailed elaboration. Her name was really odd, but maybe it was just a nickname.

"That's your name?" I asked, a little in surprise.

Shock

"That's your name?"

"Yeah." I said, rubbing my shoulder blades. In doing so, I pushed down my shirt, and exposed my tat. I quickly hid it -the FA had had many enemies.

"What was that?" Mel said, pointing at my back. I reluctantly pulled my shirt up so she could see it. I had always been proud of the black feathered wings tattooed on my back, but I kept it hidden for my own sake; if anyone found out there was still a Fallen Angel out there, they would have killed me. Being part of the best -or worst- gang in New York did that sometimes.

Even if you were a fifteen year old girl.

But thankfully, she didn't seem to recognize it. I exhaled discreetly and continued eating my soup.
hey, Jude, don't make it bad
take a sad song and make it better
remember to let it into your heart
then you can start
to make it better.

Wow, I'm a slacker xD So much has happened! I'll see if I can bring myself into this. Oh, by the way, I added some things to Aylen's profile :)

Aylen Simms - Pyrokinesis - 12:12 A.M. - Empire State Building

It just had to be the biggest building in New York, didn't it? The professor never really did choose the best places to hold meetings. I rolled my eyes as I pushed the thought out of my mind. Soleil trotted by my side as we walked through the deserted hallway, her claws clicking against the broken tile floor. I didn't care if anyone heard her - I could defend myself against anyone I needed to. A small flame floated above my hand and lit the way down the dim hall.

Soleil froze suddenly. She lifted her head slightly and smelled the air. I stopped and looked down at her.

"What is it?" I asked, as if I expected her to answer.

Her tongue lolled out of her mouth every few seconds in a series of cautious pants. Then, she nearly bolted down the hallway, straight to the door that led to the stairwell. I ran after her and pushed the door open. Oddly, the lights were on, so I extinguished my flame and ran after the dog that raced up the stairs. She stopped at another door and I opened it slowly, trying hard to be as silent as possible now. I figured that Soleil had run up here because she smelled a person - or people - and even if I could defend myself, I didn't want to if I didn't have to. The retriever seemed to catch onto this and also tried hard to stay quiet as she followed her nose to the source of the smell.

I tip-toed after her and we eventually came to another hallway, at the end of which was a light. It was coming from a room, where two people stood. A boy and a girl, both had guns drawn, and there was another dog at the feet of the boy. A man, also holding a gun, was waiting around a corner. I wasn't sure exactly what he was doing; he was just standing there, as though listening to them, even though they were not saying anything. Near my feet sat a puddle of water. I found this odd, as the pipes in most of the buildings around here had run dry.

I hung back a little and waited for an opportunity to make myself known.

Well, I think guns help. If you just stand there and yell BANG I don't think you're going to kill too many people...

I completely forgot about this too! I'm going to jump in :D

Lucy Storm

The wind whipped my brown hair into frenzy as I peered down over the side of the Empire State Building. The tall structure had fallen into ruin not long after the first round of the Phrosphase epidemic, now lining the sky with a bleak presence. Night time had fallen, and it was a clear sky out, though few stars were visible.

The radio broadcast had stated that the top floor of the building was the meeting point for someone to obtain Prophase. Certainly it had been implied that it was a private message, but it was intended to be heard by those who seeked the drug. A scowl crossed my face. It was all the work of the Professor, trying to feed the people. Sooner or later, they'd all bow to his will, and he'd be Lord Almighty like he had always wanted to be.

I unzipped my black pack, pulling out a crossbow with a small but thick steel cable attached to it. There was a fairly large gargoyle attached to the building, right next to one of the smashed in windows. Or was it smashed out?

I aimed for just past the Gargoyle's head, pulling the trigger. The cable flew out, and as I narrowed my eyes in concentration dived to one side, wrapping around the stone structure. I attached the crossbow to an air-conditioning box, using a piece of metal I'd found scattered on the roof as a secure holding. The crossbow was my escape route if things turned hairy.

I jumped onto the ledge of the building, breathing in. The prophase I needed to live pumped through my veins after I'd taken my last injection. Though I hated the fact that I was addicted - and not by choice - a part of me loved the edge it gave me. I was a trained warrior after all.
Soon I was on the gargoyle, and just the slightest touch of my palm levelled the stone into an even square shape that I could easily balance on. I may have great ninja skills, but I was standing onthe top of one of the tallest buildings in the world. Gathering my breath, I squinted into the darkness of the building. The muffled sound of voices floated through the air. As my eyes quickly adjusted to the new light, or lack thereof, I noticed four figures around the large room. Two of them held some small object in front of the other - no guessing that it was some form of weapon. A canine stood at the feet of one of the figures. To the left of the figures, a larger, bulkier one stood in the shadows, as if waiting for something. And then there was the shadow by the door, partially visible due to a small patch of light behind the person's back.

I crept slowly along the stone platform, climbing carefully and quietly into the building. I moulded myself against the walls, using my back to make the walls fit my shape. The two figures with the guns - a boy and a girl, I realized by the sounds of their voices - were still arguing, unaware that they had company.

"Well, well, well. Look at the gathering we have here!" The voice boomed across the room.

This can be anyone here, just a little something to pick up the pace!

Kiara Gillian Vandepeer; Regeneration; 12:15am; Empire State Building

It was a stalemate. In fact it was worse than that because I didn't have a loyal dog crouched at my feet, letting out low warning growls. I took a measured step back and tucked all my weapons away, out of sight but not out of reach. He didn't lower his gun. I got the feeling that he wasn't immediately going to shoot me either though.

"What are you here for?" the boy demanded. I was really starting to miss the friendly tones of normal conversation. I gave him a shrug and a grin as I appreciated his chiseled features. He was about my age.

"Exploring, investigating. The same as you." I started moving forward again. I thought that now I'd put my weapons away it was safe to advance. He hadn't started shooting yet anyway and I was impatient to reach the source of the broadcast already. I'd explored the rooms behind me so going forward seemed a good idea.

"Stop!" the boy demanded. I cocked an eyebrow at him. I was getting closer and almost close enough to reach out and pat the dog. It was just a passing thought, more a realisation than an intention but I saw something shift in the boy's eyes as he interpreted my action and his finger tightened on the trigger.

"Well, well, well. Look at the gathering we have here!" The voice was loud and sounded vaguely familiar. Then I realised I'd heard it before on the radio! I turned, looking for the source and saw a formation of people striding toward us. The first was the legendary professor and I supposed the others were his escorts. "Put up your weapons and come out into the open!" That of course caused some hesitation. The boy didn't look ready to put his weapon up and as others slid into view - had they been watching us? - most of them were carrying weapons as well.

"Why should we trust you?" the boy's eyes narrowed and he placed his back against a wall, watching everyone. I felt exposed, standing out in the open as I was.
