I am brand new,

Hello everyone at YWS,

My name is Matt and my user name is brandnew, we might want to stick to that as I have already learned there are many Matt's here already. My name fits because I am brandnew to this site and eager to be an active member. I recently graduated from high school and my creative writing teacher suggested that I submit some of my work. My first submission is under the general fiction short stories and I'm sure that is where most of my submissions will be. I would appreciate anyone's comments tremendously, my first post is entitled, Love Will Save The Day. The name doesn't make much since unless you really think about it and is inspired by the song. The story itself is about an elderly woman that commits a crime against her daughter-in-law, but I wont tell you just what that crime is, I wouldn't want to spoil it. Thank you everyone! Any criticism is good criticism and I would greatly appreciate it!

How are you enjoying so far? How did you find out about YWS?

This is a very good place and an opportunity for you to become a better of yourself, particularly when it comes to writing stuffs. Also, try checking out every forums in here so you can familiarize well everything. There are some good threads here that can help you with your grammar, punctuations, etc. For short, imagine a big building or school with YWS name on it. The Chatroom is a cool place to meet and greet other 'aspiring' writers too. PM me for questions or anything.

Lol, your username is truly the best, isn't it? I don't know how well it'll fit you when you've been on YWS every day for a year or so, (You will be, because you'll become addicted, like the rest of us. Trust me.) but, with some help from the mods (users with green usernames) you can get yourself a new name.

If you ever have any questions, PM a mod, or just ask me (leave me a note in my guestbook).

If you ever need another review, just ask politely in the Will Review for Food forum, or just ask me for one (leave me a note in my guestbook).

And you are correct in saying there are a few "Matt"s on the site. I know of two at least. And both live in the same timezone. It gets confusing, mildly. xD

If you need anything, don't be afraid to drop me a PM! I'm one of the JMs on the site (hence the light green name) so if you post a story in the wrong forum, the light-green (or green) people are who you go to.

I'm pretty new myself so I cannot actually go out there and make up some kind of catch fraise like all the cool peeps on this site do. (They really do and I'm so jealous, the worst thing is they don't even know they are doing it.) I'm thinking along the lines of hey, hey it's Cirque!! Eh, eh it rhymes!

Anyway, I've checked this site and there are some cool things like this weclome mat for example. I just love to scare everyone with my welcomings...it's not every day a random says hello and starts asked you questions! MY QUE~~~

Anyway, Welcome to YWS! Hope you have fun here. I know I do.
Now, it's a huge site (there are things that even I have not discovered after three years) and if you get lost, don't hesitate to ask. There is usually people lurking in chat (of which I am often among) who will most likely be able and willing to answer questions. You can also PM pretty much anyone you like, everyone's pretty friendly. The green people are the ones with the mod jobs, so they know *everything*, but there are a lot of helpful people to ask if our beloved modsquad are busy.
Anywaay, it is nice to meet you. I am Nutty, and if you wish you can call me Chey, but I don't expect you to remember such things, so I answer to pretty much anything.
