Outline
It is present day. You’re a young adult living somewhere in the world, whether in the heart of New York City or in the highest reaches of the Himalayan Mountains. Maybe something drastic happened in your early life that landed you there. Maybe you were just bored. Maybe you’re an adrenaline junkie who has a flair for the dramatic. Maybe it’s none of those things. Maybe it’s all of them.

Whatever the reason, you're there now, and you find yourself employed as a Superhero’s sidekick. You’re not being paid, or at least not with cold hard cash, but you could say that being a sidekick does come with certain special benefits. Your hero has worked towards teaching you everything they know.

However, with every superhero comes a supervillain. And as you and most of the rest of the world know, superheroes and supervillains don’t normally get along too well. Usually the villain is out for some sort of revenge or redemption, or simply bent on total world domination, yadda yadda yadda. It’s up to the hero to stop them. And most of the time they do.

Well, turns out the villains have had it with losing. They’re tired of having to slink back into the shadows, licking their wounds or trying desperately to rebuild their super-ultra-top-secret lairs that probably aren't so secret. That is not to say, however, that they have simply given up. Instead they have come to a mutual agreement that, in order to rid the world of their super counterparts, they must band together and pool their resources, knowledge and strategies.

Recently your hero went off on a mission, leaving you behind to hold down the fort. It was supposed to be a simple search-and-rescue operation that should have taken hours at most. It’s been nearly two days now, and your hero still hasn’t returned. You begin to worry. Then comes the worldwide broadcast. Turns out your hero has gone and gotten themself captured, along with all the others. Typical. The villains are demanding whatever they’ve always wanted – world domination, money, revenge, et cetera (I believe there was a marriage proposal in there somewhere). They’re demanding these things in promise that with each wish granted, the life of a single hero will be saved, but all demands must be met within three months or else all the heroes die.

So now it’s up to you, the faithful sidekick. Do you risk it all and go to save your hero, or do you kick back and reap the benefits of inheriting all that they left behind? It’s your choice.

Basic Rules
-Normal YWS rules apply.
-No graphic sex or violence. Try to keep it PG-13. Swearing is allowed, but do not be vulgar.
-Posts must include your character’s name at the top. All posts must be at minimum 1000 characters.
-One character per person, unless you ask me specifically and I okay it.
-Please keep the main thread clear of any and all extraneous comments not directly relating to character profiles and/or actual storybook posting after we start. A discussion thread will be made where the storybook may be discussed and questions asked. Feel free to PM me as well.
-No god characters. Remember, even superheroes have weaknesses. And their sidekicks even more so.

Specific Rules
-You will be playing only as the sidekick in this story. You may include information on both your hero and his/her villain counterpart (see character template for more information) but none of the story will be occurring from their point of view.
-You may base your hero/sidekick/villain off of a pre-existing superhero or supervillain, but do not directly copy them. There must be distinct differences.
-If you decide to create your own hero and sidekick, please make them realistic. We don’t need Waffle Man and Waffle Boy running around cooking villains with their waffle irons and drowning them in syrup.

Spoiler
Image

In her normal, civilian form, Carsen, or Beastgirl, had long dark hair, and bright blue eyes. She's small and short in stature and frame, but she makes up for it with her strenghth and curves. She usually wears jeans, converse, and a tank top with a zip up hoodie over it.

In her working form, Carsen normally wears tight black pants, long sleeve tshirt, black shoes, and black gloves. She also wears a black mask with cat ears on it. (Kinda like an ANBU mask, only in black :D)

Personality: Carsen is very, very hyper. She's like a puppy. And sometimes, turns into one. She can be serious, but only on important occasions. Her emotions get a hold of her easily.

History: Carsen was once living with her parents in the small town of Hua, Colorado (I doubt it exists!) When she was thirteen, both her mother and father where killed in an accident. Her body morphed into that of a rhino, protecting her from damage. She wasn't able to turn back, and walked all the way from Colorado, to Washington state, where she met Christian Christianson, a veterinarian. He took her in, unknowing that she was really a human, until one night, after Carsen relaxed finally, and settled down to sleep as Christian did a check up on her, she morphed back, alarming the doctor.

Hero: Beastman : His real name is Christian Christianson. He's a buff man, with long blonde hair, and long, sharp incisors. He has the power, like Carsen, to transform into an animal, however, he can also command animals around him to do his bidding. His weakness is fire, like most feral animals.

Villain: Dr. Sarge : Doctor Sarge is a mad scientist, like most evil villians. He creates hybrids of animals that should never exsist. He was once called once called Doctor Austin Sergeant, or simple, Austin Sergeant. His weakness is snakes. He's deathly afraid of them, and simply the sight will make him pass out. He wants his highschool sweatheart, Americus Handrews, to marry him.
Oh, the tiger will love you. There is no sincerer love than the love of food.

Birth Name Kaiden "Kai" Phillips

Alter Ego None yet, though his hero, Blurr, fondly calls him by many nicknames.

Age 19

Gender Male

Location New York, New York

Super Power None

Weaknesses Kaiden has a weaker immune system than most humans, meaning he gets sick relatively easy and stays sick longer. He's also deathly scared of rats and large dogs.

Gadgets Kaiden has a few special weapons and whatnot stashed away under his belt, but by far his greatest gadget, given to him by his mentor, Blurr, is his suit. It has a strong metal exoskeleton covering his entire body and houses some small, minor weapon systems. It can target and track, is completely waterproof, has a self-contained environment, monitors and regulates vitals, and can take phone calls and has access to internet databases. The suit is also flight capable up to nearly supersonic speeds and is light, despite it’s heavy appearance, running mainly on solar power though an internal backup power source is located near the left shoulder for emergency situations. Blurr built the suit himself so that Kaiden had a means to keep up with him in battle or simply just while traveling.

Appearance As a civilian, Kaiden has short, spiked blond hair and bright blue eyes, with rings of light hazel around the center. He stands 6’ and has a slim, muscular build with lightly tanned skin. His clothing is normally comfortable and casual, more often than not a simply pair of jeans and a t-shirt. When he’s playing the part of the Superhero’s sidekick, his suit is made of blue and silver colored metal.

Personality Kaiden is pretty laid back and easy going. He has a sarcastic sense of humor and is strong-willed. He’s good with mechanical things and is smart, has a strong sense of right and wrong, and is patient. All the main reasons Blurr took a liking to him. He won’t start a fight himself, but if he’s dragged into one he’ll defend himself viciously. He’s charming, slightly eccentric, not easily distracted, and is incredibly loyal.

History Kaiden was born on Long Island, New York and spent most of his early life there. He was the second son in his family and his father rarely acknowledged his existence, giving all his attention to Kaiden's older brother, Liam, who was bound to grow up the exact replica of their father. Kaiden's mother, a schoolteacher, claimed she didn't have the time to spend with him and left him to his own devices. Finally, four years ago, he decided he had had enough and ran away from home, eventually wandering into the drug-infested back streets of New York. He was cornered by a group of thugs intent of robbing and beating him, but saved by the appearance of the local superhero, Blurr. With nowhere else to go, Kaiden followed the hero back to his home and begged to be allowed to stay. At first Blurr, aka Luke Bradley, was adamant that Kaiden couldn't stay with him, but eventually gave in with it was clear the boy had no intentions of leaving any time soon. Ever since he's been training under the teaching and supervision of Blurr, and has become somewhat of a test subject for the eccentric scientist-gone-superhero.

Hero A 35-year-old man by the name of Luke Bradley, aka Blurr. Luke has the power of flight, as well as being a scientist/engineer. He excels at advanced weaponry and robotics and has built many one-of-a-kind projects, some of which work and most of which blow up in his face. His greatest weaknesses are alcohol and his own recklessness. Put the two together (which they often are if you know Luke) and you have a potentially dangerous man.

Villain Scott Lockheart, aka Plague. He's a 37-year-old microbiologist specializing in the study of harmful bacteria and viruses, particularly those that can be used as a pathogen in the human body and can be administered without direct contact. Biological warfare, if you will. He's incredibly smart and resourceful and has a lot of money to back up his 'projects'. His greatest weakness is that he rarely follows anything through to the end and is easily sidetracked. His demand from the world is to be formally recognized as the greatest scientist that ever lived and ever will live.

I have been impressed with the urgency of doing. Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Being willing is not enough; we must do.
