Im new to YWS!

Hi Francesca!

There's an Italian exchange student called Francesca at my school right now.

I haven't read the Lightning Thief nor any Eva Ibbotson books, apart from the one where the main character is called Maya. I don't remember the book's name as it's been quite many years since I read it. But if you want suggestions, I'll recommend my favourite book, the Catcher in the Rye! I read it for the first time when I was about 13, if I remember correctly.

I too know a Francesca. In fact two. One of them was my Primary School best friend... Any way, moving on.
Everyone is saying the Percy Jackson books are good so I might try reading it. I didn't particularly like the Eva Ibbotson books because they weren't really my favourite genre.
I love Jimi Hendrix as well. I went on your profile and you have the same birthday as him? (!) That is sooo cool. My birthday is shared with Cameron Diaz.
I would probably recommend reading Of Mice and Men... Although that's a little old for you (then again I read it when I was eleven). You might be able to understand it. Do you like the Twilight series? That's really good too.

Aaaawwww, such a hoplessly cute avvie! Back in the day, I loved the 'Lightning Thief' series too. For more suggestions along the fantasy line...it'd be good to know what you've already read - PM me, if you want . I'd suggest The Wind Singer series, Kate Thompson's books, the Phantom Tollbooth, the Amulet of Samarkand by Jonathon Stroud, mayeb some Terry Pratchet (haven't read too much by him, actually), gosh - the list is endless!!! If you've read all these...I still have hundreds more up my sleeve.

What do you like to write?

I don't write stories that much, but when I do it's mainly based on tragic stories (like Titanic and about Refugees). I'm going to get into writing more stories now that I've joined. Feel free to ask any more questions and how about you? What stories do you like to write??
