Stating the obvious: I'm new. ;)

Hi! My name's Jess, I live in the UK, and, despite my almost uncontrollable procrastination, I would love to write and publish a successful novel (or even a collection of short stories).
I really love science fiction (particularly dystopian) stories. My favourite authors are George Orwell, Ray Bradbury and Philip K. Dick; just to name a few! x3
I also love industrial music...and that's all I really needed to say.

I'm kind of new too, but here are some pointers:

#1. DON'T USE CHAT TALK! Chat talk is things like "hi i luv 2 rit3 how bout u?". USE CORRECT GRAMMAR!
#2. Keep up a 2:1 ratio (meaning write 2 reviews fore every 1 post you write) when submitting your work.
#3. People won't review your work if you don't review other people's work.

I also live in the UK, I'm Sophie and I'm fourteen. I prefer fantasy/magical realism to science fiction, although I have enjoyed a few dystopian books I am in a large state of procrastination at the moment, so I know how you feel. My favourite book of all time is probably...1984. There's something about it that makes it unputdownable.
I love the Uglies Trilogy!! That's the series that got me into dystopian stories. =D
But my favourite Scott Westerfeld novel is Parasite Positive... x3

I really didn't like the Uglies series, no offence. They seemed like the type of books I would love. And then he went and killed off Zane . Now, the Hunger Games, that's a different story...

I need to read 1984, I've only read Animal Farm.

Anyway, welcome to YWS! I love your username, it's awesome. So, hi, I'm Stella, seventeen (just!) and I'm from Ireland. How's that volcanic ash treating you? And novels? Novels are awesome- Nate (that's our admin, and sort of like our god) just installed new features for novels so you came at the right time! Me, I'm trying to finish... well, anything. I'm not really a science fiction type, I prefer fantasy and mostly fairytales. But still, cool!
