What a Wonderful Day

Ciao, my name is SunSetWest. I am a 17 year old single male enjoying his third year of high school. I'm an American, but my Italian decent is something I hold dear so if I randomly spout off in Italian I apologize now, so I will reread this post to make sure I didn't.

Besides literature, music plays a large role in my life. I can play the trumpet, euphonium, and trombone, but my primary instrument is the euphonium. I also enjoy some light acting by participating in my schools fall performance, but for the musical I stick with the pit orchestra.

When it comes to writing I consider myself first and foremost a poet. Though I have to admit my dream is to one day finish a novel and get it published. My preferred genre would have to be realistic fiction.

I don't have a favorite author, book, or genre to read. I enjoy a variety of novels. Anything else just ask.

Ooh, Italian. I've always wanted to learn how to speak Italian.

Wow, I don't even know what a euphonium is! Probably do just didn't know the instrument name I play the violin and a little guitar and piano. But I'm rather rusty in all since I rarely play anymore.

A euphonium? Gosh that sounds interesting and rather difficult, though I don't really know what it is!

I'm not much of a poet, but I can relate a bit more on the noveling bit! I tend to side more with fantasy fiction when I write, though, but only because it fascinates me. I love reading realistic fiction.

Can't wait to see your work around the site! And I hope you do well with that novel dream of yours.

FYI: The Euphonium is like a mini Tuba playing in the same range as a Trombone. It is more commonly know as a Baritone.

Haha nice someone with italian decent. I live in United States, and I was born here. Although I have cousins in Italy that I had never met. Last year I went with my grandparents (who are the only people I know in the USA that speak perfect italian) to Italy. It was downright amazing!

Hope you enjoy yourself here. Sorry for going on about my life. I hope to see you around the poetry section although I do not check there often.

Nice to meet you too, and I, too hope to learn Italian one day (Fr, Sp, Latin, Hindi should all help - oh, yeah, English too). I'm amazed at the number of instruments you can play...how do you find time to play them all?

Same dilemna here - I also write poetry more than anything else, but, like you, I would love to get a novel published. Realistic fiction for me too - but I used to be quite the fantasy-addict.

Do you have any particular style or genre of poetry you prefer to write in? Or do you go through 'seasons'? (That's what I do). Anyway, hope to see some of your work sometime - how about NaPo, eh?
