I finished reading the first in this series (The Secret Hour) and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it.
It's about the twenty-fifth hour of the day. Yep, that's right, twenty-fifth. Time freezes at exactly midnight for one hour. And only a certain group of people (affectionately nicknamed the Midnighters) can unfreeze during this period. And they all have special powers, like Rex the Seer, who can understand the ancient lore of the Midnighters. Or Melissa the Mindcaster, who can hear the thoughts of others- all the time. Then we have Dess the Polymath, the best help for your maths homework you'll ever find. And we have Johnathan the Acrobat, capable of "flying" or jumping long distances and great heights during the midnight hour. And, lastly, newbie Jessica, whose power I can't reveal without spoiling the plot.
And then there's the baddies: slithers and darklings. Which usually don't bother the Midnighters, until Jessica moves to Bixby, Oklahoma. And then they can't get the blighters away from them (which is why Jessica's power is important!).
Anyone else read any of these books?
