Music while Writing

Well, I'm not sure if anybody here listens to any music in particular while writing. But I thought I'd post a list of some music that helps me to write and can cure some serious cases of writers block.

If they don't inspire you, that's okay because I'm sure everyone has music that helps them write, even if you haven't discovered it yet. The list is below

So that's a list of the main songs that I listen to while writing. I hope they help you like they have me

Cool! My computer isn't fast enough to load videos, but I'll have to check those out later. Usually I don't have music when I write, but oddly, I find it easier to write in busy places with some background noise (born, no doubt, of scribbling sessions at the back of sewing class).

Yeah, it's strange how much easier writing with music is.
Whenever you get a chance, you should take a look at a few. Or buy an actual Soundtrack like the Dragon Age Origins one, that has some beautiful songs on it.

If I'm writing a love story, I normally listen to Taylor Swift or some old country songs. (Which are my FAVORITE!)
Or maybe I'm writing a scene where the main character is walking through a busy hallway, then I prefer to listen to some heavy metal and rock. (Skillet, Ozzy, Metallica, ect...)
Or maybe I'm writing a scene where the main character is with her girl friends or is having a girl talk, then I listen to pop. (Jonas Brothers, Hansen, David Archuleta, ect.)

I usually don't listen to any music while writing, but when I do listen (to get an idea etc.), I listen to the following:
1. Pink Floyd: Mostly "Another Brick in the Wall" part one, two, and three; "Money;" and "Time."
2. Metallica: I listen to many of Metallica's song. My favorite is "Master of Puppets".
3. Gipsy King: I don't have a favorite song from this group, but I listen to many of their songs.
4. And, of course, Classical music: Beethoven (mostly), Bach, Mozart, Paganini, and others.

I also listen to Pink Floyd and occasionally Metallica when writing. The Tea Party is my all time favourite though (Favourite songs are Temptation, Sister Awake, Heaven Coming Down, The Messenger, A Certain Slant of Light and Psychopomp).

Sometimes I just need anything fast and upbeat to get me going, but I'll usually swap to something more atmospheric after 10 minutes or so.

My general writing has a very, if not dark, solemn tone to it. So, I usually listen to some of Sarah McLachlan's music, as it's full of ups and downs. My favorite song is probably 'Vox'.

However, wierdly enough, I can't seem to listen to it while I'm writing.
