So I did a little something for YWS on the New Year. I wanted to put it as "Happy New Year, Nate!" as a tribute to our wonderful leader, but it seemed a bit like sucking up, so I made it YWS. It's a Sheaffer calligraphy pen with the Gothic font, but (as you can see) I haven't quite mastered the art yet. (I also tend to get too flowery around the capital letters)
Each scan has another picture attached of before I edited for contrast. It shows the parchment-color paper I used.

Wow. I don't think I've ever really seen anything like this before, or at least, nothing like it done by hand. They're are really, really cool. I actually like how flowery you can get around the capital letters, it's gorgeous. I wish I knew calligraphy like this.

I'm impressed at your calligraphy skills! This is really good. Getting flowery is a good thing; the fancier, the better, or so I hear. How long have you been practicing calligraphy? I started practicing some in English and Arabic when I was 12, but I could never really get the hang of it, so, I pretty much fail. I'm especially in love with you Y and W; it's beautiful.

Thanks guys! June, I've practiced Calligraphy for about two years now. My Dad taught me a bunch, and some I absorbed from Calligraphy books, so you could kinda say I was halfway self-taught.
