Hello. Recently I did a project about Disney and whether or not age affected how much and why you did or did not like Disney. And I came across this question; How many teens really like Disney?
I love Disney, personally. It's a bit of an obsession. While I am into other things, especially Broadway (which I am equally obsessed with), I can't help but feel alone in that love, at least at this age. Take a look in any Disney Imagineering book and you will be amazed at what these people have accomplished. They have this almost OCD need to make everything absolutely perfect. For example, the American Pavillion at EPCOT in Orlando, Florida is not only red and blue, but six different shades of white. They put different shades in depending on the mood and story they were going for. Disney Imagineering makes sure that every aspect of their theme parks are breath taking.
The movies are things that we have all grown up with. Watching movies like Snow White, Cinderella, and even more recent ones like Tarzan and Beauty and the Beast. I am only 14, so more recent for me is more like Tarzan, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, etc. but, Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, and the Little Mermaid are still pretty recent.
As a lover of Disney, I really would like to hear peoples opinions on it:good and bad. My current novel is about Disney... well,not really about it. It is about a 15 year old girl who while visiting Disney, gets sucked into a world where Disney is a real community; characters of the past, present, and future. She will have to work with them, and some of her "friends" that came along for the ride from her world, to save her Aunt, who was kidnapped by Disney Villians, and eventually get home.
I recently went to the Disney parks (last week) and got a lot of good notes for my book. It has a really great foundation that I've spent three months working on... and I'm almost ready to start writing. I guess now I just want to know... what do you guys think? Not about the book necessarily, but about Disney itself. I understand that if you don't like Disney, you probably will not like my book, but I would rather get negative opinions for the negative opinions of my characters (plus I would love to meet people who love Disney too. I love fellow Disney fans!)
So, I would love to hear all your opinions. Please, post. If you feel the need to comment on my book, you may. Though I must warn you that there is a lot, a lot more to the story than just what I said there. Hopefully, I will post my Prologue on here soon.

Are you asking for opinions of the cartoon movie aspect of Disney, or like the newer Disney stars like Hannah Montana and Jonas Brothers?

I'm looking for more of the movies, less of Disney Channel... and the theme parks too.

Well, as a teen, I hated Disney. But now, I like it. Not the drivel like Jonas Brothers or Hannah Montana, but the animated movies.

Of course, Disney also went through an awful string of animated movies when I was a teen, so that may be the reason I didn't like it back then. From when Toy Story came out to when Finding Nemo came out, there's nothing I like to this day.

Haha, I love how you put Hannah Montana and the JoBros Nate, it is purely drivel! That's the perfect word to describe them. I'd also like to add the shows, ''Wizards 101'', ''Sonny With A Chance'', and ''The Suite Life of Zach and Cody'' to that category.

Back to the question though, I've always like Disney movies, some much much more than others. ''The Incredibles'' in particular I enjoyed a lot along with ''Beauty and the Beast'', ''Finding Nemo'', and ''Tarzan''.
Disney has been doing pretty well lately overall with their movies but the one thing I wish they would stay away from is their horrible sequels like ''Tarzan 2 and 3'' for example. It almost takes away from the classic original to create low-budget, not well thought out garbage like that.

As for the parks, I've never been to any of them. Our family could never afford to travel across the country to go to one.

That said, your novel sounds interesting, I'd like to read it!

I go to Disneyland in California about once a month. It is my favorite place in the world, and I am sixteen. My family and I are about the biggest Disney fans you will ever meet. I have been backstage and to their warehouses because I marched down Main street in my band.
I love all Disney movies except those cruddy sequels. haha
They just bring back wonderful childhood memories and Disneyland is just a happy place. Its the one vacation spot for my family to go to where we won't argue or yell at each other. It really is magical

if i ever said i hated disney my mom would MURDER me lol i have always been a disney fan! 14 YEARS OLD LOVE DISNEY AND PROUD OF IT! i have friends...... lol
