I need a story to write about...

I have several ideas, but none of them really appeal to me. I need a story to write about. My mind is just blank...

Why not check out the Contests forum? There are a bunch of things there to write about. I got out of a dry spell in that forum.

And, don't be worried about dry spells. I sometimes don't write for months because nothing appeals. An idea will hit you eventually, and then you can't wait to write it.

Go! Just write! Get the boring ideas out and the better ones will eventually come!
(Here I am saying this when I am also stuck. I should follow my own advice. )
