without a delay id like to introduce my self, my name is Spencer Sharp but i guess every 1 around me calls me Spence, i am 15 and just cant seem to get my head out of literature i think its a talent like many but not all have i mostly mind my own business and like to remain witty at times but I'm serious about what i do. i have great ideas stuck in my head that i am trying to get out by filling dozens of papers every day but i guess now ill post every thing i have here!

to addition i love to write mystery stories and have won many local competitions still as everyone i am not perfect so i hope i have help from this place and i can call this home { if you know what i mean } :D


P.S
i play soccer as a physical sport while for mental relaxation i spend time on the internet from which have developed a whole lot of knowledge about it so i think its enough about me hope i can blend in ! :smt001

Hey, Spence! Welcome to YWS! *hands cookie*

Hope you're finding it good so far!

I'll give yo a quick run-down of the rules:

1) Plz dnt spk lyk dis OR LIKE THIS Or SoMeThInG lIkE tHiS!!!!! We don't like chat speak, and we encourage good spelling, grammar and capitalization. (watch those "i"s!)

2) The 3:1 Ratio. This means you need to do 3 reviews for every piece of your own work that you post on YWS. Reviews need to be 250 characters (3 lines) long at least, and should really be constructive rather than: "OMG! That was AWESOME! Keep writing!!! XXX"

3) Rate your work. Depending on adult scenes, language and violence, please rate your work accordingly. (E for everyone, 12+, 15+ and 18+)

4) Be nice! So keep the swearing in your stories, ok?

Well, those are the most important rules! If you have any further questions about them, then just PM (private message) me!

Anyway, one thing that you might find useful is the buddy system! Basically, if you PM any member on this forum then they'll be your mentor (and look after you) for your first week on YWS!

Aaaand now, some questions!

What do you write? What do you read? What's your favourite holiday? Do you dress up for halloween? Tea or coffee? Watched any good films lately? Chocolate or sweets? What music do you listen to? What inspires you to write the most? Are you a cat person or a dog person? D'you love or hate marmite? What is your favourite word? Do you prefer to write by hand or by typing? Hello!

I would like to start by congratulating you on winning the competitions; that's very cool. lol. Soccer is my sport of choice too, well that or dodge ball. Good choice.

That done: Welcome! You've definitely picked a great site; YWS is the best writing community I have come across and I think you'll like it here.

Just remember the basic rules:
1. No chat speak.
2. There is a 3:1 rule when it comes to posting. Pleas review three peices before you post one of your own (or very soon after posting. But for your first piece definitely do it before =P). This way everyone gets the reviews they deserve for their hard work. ^_^ Do this every time to submit your work and everyone will be very happy. Not to mention some people will return the favor so you will also get more reviews for yourself :wink:
3. Rate your work. If you don't you might give someone a shock. Also, work that is rater appears on the front page, which means more people will notice it.
4. Have fun. ^_^

Thanks for all of you you welcoming me and informing me the rules i sure didn't see that coming but i guess ill keep in touch with you for as long as i am here and like BondGirl i hope none of you mind me when i pm you for help or hanging around
oh and JD here are you answers : i love reading suspense/thriller novels, favourate color black, i want to be a businessman when i grow up but i guess i also want to be a writer thats why i am here ;), i found YWS by hard search on Google it took me around 2 hours, favourate author Jhon Grisham, i have been writing seriously since last year my favorite movie is "The Assassination of the High School President" and as i said i love soccer computers and hacking!lol

now i guess its your turn to let me know you better if you dont mind, that is.

It's awesome if you keep in touch, Spence. That means that you're staying on YWS, which is what all of us want!

I love John Grisham. He's not one of my favourite authors, but I picked up a load of his books on holiday and managed to get through a fair lot of them! I want to see the "Pelican Brief" movie, especially seeing as the two main characters are two of my favourite actors, but I haven't got round to that yet!

Football (or soccer, if you're American!) is a pretty awesome game. I used to play about 3-5 times a week, but I've given it up in favour of running and swimming now. But still, fun to play! I don't like watching it so much though.

As JD said, you can check out chat if you want a great way to get to know people better!

Suspense and thriller? That sounds like a a good read. I myself can't resist them, and often pick them up. Black's a nice color, goes with any outfit, but I don't think you really care about that fact, haha ;) Busisnessman and writer, eh? That's an interesting mix! So, if you don't mind me asking, out of curiousty, why does a businessman interest you so much? Did it really take you two hours to find us? Haha. Never seen the movie, or heard of the author, but I'll try to find em' and see.
