Hi there, Camryn! Welcome to YWS. *hands cookie*

I'm sure that you'll love it here! And now I'll just go over the rules.

1) The 3:1 Ratio. Basically it's recommended that you do 3 reviews for every piece of work that you post. But don't worry, reviews just need to say what you liked and what could be improved. I'm afraid that earlier comments you've made on other people's work haven't counted, they need to be over 3 lines to be counted as a review!
- To check your review ratio go to My YWS > My Profile > Statistics.

(By the way, I'd be careful about posting too much of your story at once. It kind of fills up the forums!)

2) Rate your work. If it has "adult scenes", excessive violence or language then it'll need to be rated accordingly. Some people don't like to read certain things so it's considerate if you rate things that you post.

3) No cht spk OR CAPS LOCK. This includes proper grammar, capitilization and apostrophes. Well, YWS is a writing site!

4) Be nice. So no flaming other members and please keep your language in your stories.

5) Have fun! (Not hard to do.)

Ok, now it's question time!

What do you write? What do you read? What's your favourite holiday? Do you dress up for halloween? Tea or coffee? Watched any good films lately? Chocolate or sweets? What music do you listen to? What inspires you to write the most? Are you a cat person or a dog person? D'you love or hate marmite? What is your favourite word? Do you prefer to write by hand or by typing? What can't you live without? Are you looking forward to Christmas?

Hi Camryn! Great to see you here!

So, you might have noticed all the different colours around the site. Those colours mean the members have a job to do. What they mean are:

Blue- Greeters, like AquaMarine. They make you feel welcome to the site, and are always willing to answer questions. Don't be afraid to give them a shout.

Purple- Instructors. You'll see them posting in the Literature forums a lot, giving some of the best reviews YWS can give out. If you're looking for a good review, bug them!

Light Green- Junior Moderators, like me. If you need something locked, moved, deleted, whatever, come to one of the light green members. We're also very open to answering questions.

Green- Mods. They can do everything a JM [Junior Mod] can, but they also take care of member disagreements and other major stuff. They keep YWS running smoothly on the surface.

Red- Admins. They make sure the site is running smoothly behind the scenes. If you have a problem with logging out randomly or anything else about site glitches, go to them. You'll also see the "Information Desk" in the same cluster as this forum. You can give comments and suggestions, as well as report bugs, there as well.

Orange- Distinguished Members. They're retired mods and admins of YWS who have done a lot of good, either in the forums or behind the scenes.

You can also find a list of what each colour is at the bottom of the forums. Click on a title, and you'll get a list of every member in that group.

Everyone else already posted most of the rules and other important things you need to do, so let's get down to talking shall we?

Haha, so you like to read? What kind of books do you usually like? I love romance and realistic fiction. Just the kind of stuff that can relate to teens, ya know? Who is your favorite author? I seriously don't even have one. There are so many incredible authors out there, that write so many incredible books! If I had to choose though, Jodi Picoult is very good. Have you read her book My Sister's Keeper? That book had me bawling at the last few pages.
Tennis? That's fun! I'm not too good of a tennis player, but I do do other things. I like volleyball, basketball, soccer, cross country, and track & field. I also dance, if the user name didn't give it away! Haha. Do you do any other extra activities, or clubs?
Sleep..oh of course. Who doesn't? (:
So how did you first find YWS? Just searching through good ol' Google? Or a friend? Family member? Something like that?
