Summary: The second book in The New Prohpecy series brings forth new charecters, such as Brook, Crag, Stoneteller, and the dangerous Sharptooth. In this book, the Twolegs still threaten the forest cats, and now the rabbits are becoming poisinous. The evil unknown sickness of the rabbits are killing cats off, and not even a medicine cat can stop it. And with the four chosen cats and their friends: Brambeclaw, Feathertail, Crowpaw, Tawnypelt, Stormfur, and Squirrelpaw still missing, emotions are stirring in the missing cat's kin. Three of the clan's struggle for survival, while Riverclan feats on fish and voles. Will clan life ever be back to normal?
Review: I must say, this took me forever to finish, because I only read for an hour at a time. When I finally finished it, I was relieved, and ready to move on to 'Dawn'. This book is the second of The New Prophecy, and I still found it difficult reading about Stormfur and Brambleclaw and such instead of Firestar and Graystripe. However, it still has the writing style I admire, the writers are really great at catching your eye when it comes to writing style. Many deaths come in this book, including the death of the beautiful elder Dappletail, who died after eating a poisinous rabbit. Others die as well, every one more tragic than the last. Although the book was captivating, as it was on my mind when I wasn't reading it, it's wasn't the best of the Warriors books. I enjoyed reading Midnight more than Moonrise, and that's my opinion. So far, this has been one of the not so great Warriors books. On a scale from one to ten, I'd have to say it gets a five.
Although as more come, they get harder to enjoy the same without yearning for the old forest and view points from the older characters. Somehow it seems they slowly become less harsh because the reading audience becomes younger and younger.
