I'm excited to find this website, I'm a part of the Writersdigest.com forum but its difficult to relate with anyone or join in conversations because I'm one of the youngest members there it seems, and there's no one active around my age usually.

My name is Xeque (pronounced like the letter X, that's it. ) and I'm 19. I look forward to meeting others and checking out the rest of the forums!

First of all, welcome to YWS!

Let me just give you a brief overview of the rules here,

1.) We have a 4:1 ratio, that means for every story (poem, art, etc.)you post, you have to post four reviews/critiques. Although the ratio changes to 5:1 in December or something.

2.) PLEASE TRY NOT TO TYPE IN CAPS.

3.) We're all writers so try not to type like you're texting. Also, try to keep your grammar and punctuations correct in every post.

4.) Rate your stories so we know what we're about to read. Some people dislike reading certain things.

5.) Be nice, keep the swearing in your stories and have fun!

What's your favorite movie? Game? Song? Genre? Author and book? What are some of your hobbies? I like drawing and photography, they're like my best friends.

Those are some hard questions. For favorite movie, that's honestly too hard to choose. To be less specific my favorite genre is horror, and I adore old movies.

I always think I have a new favorite song, but in the end I always end up with "Escapist" By Nightwish being my favorite.

Author and book is also very difficult because so many inspire me, if I have to choose it will have to be a top three of Stephenie Meyer (not being a cliche fan, but the author herself has inspired me to stop being afraid to aim for my goal of being an author. Also Kaleb Nation, who is a newly published author at the age of 21! And Suzanne Collins just because in her books, the action never stops, there is never a dull moment.

For hobbies, I obsessively make jewelry and I'm an outdoor person, I like roller skating and want to be in roller derby.

When I'm not writing, I'm usually making jewelry, just hanging out and finding something exciting to do, or quite often staying up till the wee hours of the morning researching or developing characters for my novel I'm working on.

For me reading and writing is basically the same, I read so that I have have an escape from the real world and enjoy the ride. I've found writing is the same, even though I know the story from beginning to end, it seems like I continue to learn new things about the story and characters, and writing gives me a rush much like the one I get from reading.

I prefer to use a computer, although I have 5 different note books I keep in different places, so that I always have a place to write on hand when I get ideas popping out of nowhere.

Not sure what my favorite genre is to read because I've read and loved so many, but as for writing, I think my favorite to write is Gothic fiction. :]
