Just wanted to say hi. i'm here just to get feedback on my writing and see if i could make it as a writer. So if you dislike anything i do please tell me.
Hi! I'm captain, and welcome. Just PM me if you would like me to read your stories! I have a lot of free time on my hands, so I log on at least twice a day. This site is fun, but there are a couple things that bug. On this site, we do not like to read chat speak, so try avoiding "lol's" or "omg's." I would read the rules before you post anything. There are a bunch more things, but someone else will cover them. You should PM me when you write something, I would love to read it! Bye! ~Classy
Welcome to YWS! I'm Mizzle. If you need any help, reviews, etc. PM me!
On YWS we have a few rules we need you to follow: 1) No, absolutely no, chatspeak! (Lol and brb are grudgingly excepted) 2) No caps lock, please. 3) The 4:1 ratio. 4 reviews for every work posted. 4) No flaming at other players. 5) Rate your stories appropriately. Some people don't like to see certain things. 6) Have fun.
The questions have come...xD Do you love or hate school, if in it? Cats or dogs? Favorite book? Favorite author? Favorite genre to write? What compells you to write the most? Anything else you'd like to share? Favorite food? Colors! What's your favorite color? Rain or sun?
Welcome, Mizzle

Hi there, Rooboosh! I'm Amy, and welcome to YWS! *hands cookie*
I'd just like to clear up a couple of things about the rules before I carry on:
1) The no chat speak rules also encompasses CAPS LOCK, capitilization (I, not i), proper grammar and apostrophes when they're needed.
2) There's been some confusion about the review:work ratio, but I think this it the gist of it. There is no mandated review requirement anymore, which means that you can technically post as many works as you want. However, this isn't recommended and if you do post a lot (as in numerous literary works a day) they will probably be deleted or ignored. I recommend that you keep your review ratio at or above 3:1. To check out your review ratio go to My YWS > My Profile > Statistics. I hope that helps you, but if you have any more questions then feel free to PM me!
And now, I'll show you the YWS rainbow!
Blue: Greeters. Basically, greeters hang round the welcome forum ready to help new members find their feet on YWS! *points to name* Purple: Instructors. They're the best critiquers YWS can throw at you! Light green and Dark green: Junior mods and moderators. They look after the site and make sure it's all going shipshape! Orange: Distinguished members. They are members who have retired from being mods. Red: Administrators. They are basically YWS gods. . Nate started YWS way back in 2004!
I hope that this helps a little, and if you have any questions then feel free to PM me, I always love to help!
*hugs*
~Amy

Hey there, Roob! Welcome to YWS! I'm June. It's great to meet you!
As Ames said, there's confusion about the review to work ratio. As of now, it's recommended that you write 3 reviews for every piece you post, but it's not mandatory. However, the more reviews you do, the more reviews you get, so it'd be great to review a lot.
You hate text talk? You're one of us now. There's no going back to the normal people now. (Normal's boring anyway!) The no text talk rule applies to all of the site, but it's especially enforced in the chat room -- which you can find on the homepage. Before you begin chatting, be sure to read the chat rules. If you have any questions at anytime, don't hesitate to PM me.
June

One of the things I love about YWS is the quote generator. For example, I'm reading a really serious work, and then I see "Moo. - cow" at the bottom of the page. — Darlet
