I've been trying to branch out in my reading a bit over the past year, and one genre that I love now is the mystery genre. However, I've ran into a dilemma. For every mystery that's fantastically written, I find about fifty that aren't. I was hoping for some recommendations for well-written mysteries. I love Agatha Christie, in particular And Then There Were None. I love and have read all the Sherlock Holmes mysteries by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I also love E.A. Poe's short stories and Donald Westlake's books (although they contain more humor than the others on my list).
So feel free to post your favorite mystery books, particularly if they are something I might enjoy based on my list. ^_^
