I'm Cass, and I'm fourteen. I'm from New York.
I actually skipped a grade, so I don't turn fifteen until next year. Just a little random fact there.
I love pizza. I hate tomatoes and cheese unless they're on pizza. I enjoy limes. And I like to write. That's basically all you need to know about me for now.
I'm pretty sure I'll like it here, so I hope to stick around!

Welcome welcome welcome to YWS, Cass! I'm Trish, and I'm fifteen.

First, I'll just tell you a little bit about the rules we have here. There aren't that many, and they're pretty easy to remember, so here we go!

~ Before you post any writing on the site, make sure you review at least three other pieces. The reason we have this 3:1 ratio is just so that everyone's work gets reviews. (Ps. The ratio might change to 4:1 in November)
~ Here at YWS, we absolutely despise chatspeak. (Though I'm sure it won't be a problem with you! :)) Make sure to not use chatspeak, and everyone will love you!

That's about it for the basic rules, so on to other things!

You said on your post that you're from New York? I've always wanted to go there! What's it like? It sounds like such an interesting city!

What grade did you skip? Was it hard to adjust to the new grade? I only know one person who skipped a grade.

I totally get what you mean about loving tomatoes on pizza but not anywhere else. I don't know why, but I just don't like them plain or anything like that. (But I could definitely eat a ton of cheese off of pizza!)

That's good that you like to write! Otherwise why would you be on this site, other than to meet a bunch of awesome people! ;)

Anything else? What's your favourite colour? What kind of music do you listen to? What are your favourite books/authors? TV shows? Movies? Ice cream flavour?

Sorry for bombarding you with all those questions. I should probably go and let another awesome YWS member come welcome you!

Make sure you feel free to PM me or anyone else if you have any questions etc.! I hope to see you around sometime! Bye bye!

~ Trish

Hi there Cass welcome to YWS :)

I really hope to see you around the site!
Four kinds of people I hate most in life.
1. People who use a preposition to end a sentence with.
2. People who can't count.
3. People who think it's 'clever' to quote ironic phrases.

Hi, Cass! *hands a cookie* Welcome to YWS! I'm Mira and I'm super excited to meet you! :)

I hope that didn't sound too cheesy, but I really do enjoy meeting new people. :) It's a wonderful experience.

Anyway, I bet you're wondering a bit about all the different members. I'll just give you a quick lesson on that. ;)

Black - Regular members! They're like you and me, with no special tasks other than to have fun!
Blue - Greeters! They're job is to meet and greet all the new members! ^-^ They're super sweet and I'm sure you'll meet several.
Purple - Instructors! These are some of the best reviewers on the site. They've really helped a lot of people find their inner writer. ;)
Green - Moderators! They are delegated the task of watching over the forums and making sure that everything is going smoothly. ^-^ They are totally amazing.
Orange - Distinguished members! These are the retired moderators. :)
Red! - Administration! These are the big guys, the head honchos. I totally love all the administrators and I'm sure you will too. They're super cool and just amazing. ^-^

Anyway, tell us a bit about yourself. What are your favorite colors? What do you like most about writing: creating the characters, building the plot, or imagining the world your story takes place in? If you could choose anyone to meet from the past, present, or literary world, who would you meet? Sorry about the questions, but I like to know how everyone answers these. ;)

Pizza is delicious. Four meat is my favorite, though I love making the pizza at home. ;)

PM me if you need anything or just want someone to talk to. Good luck on everything and enjoy your stay on YWS! We're really excited to have you here! ^-^

Smiles!
~Mira

Hey there! I'm Amy, welcome to YWS! *hands cookie*

So, I see everyone has gone through the rules and asked you the all important questions so I'll just giving you some starting tips!

The buddy system! Basically, you can PM any person that you like the look of in this thread and they will be your mentor for a month. Great way to get started on the site!

The Chatroom! This is an awesome way to get to know people!

Make a blog! Because that's cool.

Will review for food. Basically, members post their own topics here that you can reply to asking for a review! It's a great way to get good reviews! But don't ask to many people at once - that gets annoying!

Hope this helps! And see you around!

~Amy

It's great that everyone loves asking questions around here, because I'm the same way. ;)

New York is an amazing city. I'm from the Bronx, and people find it to be obvious. Apparently, I have an accent. I don't exactly understand what a Bronx accent sounds like, so...eh. It'll remain a mystery.
My favorite color is blue. This was mostly because I thought that was the color of the sky up until fifth grade, when my Earth Science teacher told me it was transparent. It was one of the worst things I ever discovered.
I speak English and Spanish fluently. I picked up Spanish from my grandparents when I was about four years old, and it hasn't left me since. I wish I took Spanish, but alas, they stuck me in Latin in freshman year.
I skipped fourth grade, and I found it to be really insignificant. The good thing was that I missed out on a lot of state tests because I skipped the grade. :P I was welcomed by the entire fifth grade class, and I barely even remembered that I was younger than them by the time I graduated. When I entered high school, most of the freshmen had no idea that I was a year younger than them, so I'd like to think that it's not entirely evident. I'm just a bit shorter. Blah.
I just find tomatoes to be so gross. I never understood why. And I only ever eat mozzarella cheese (on pizza) and queso frito (which is a Dominican cheese you bread and fry; my grandmother shoved it down my throat when I was seven and I've liked it ever since).
I'll listen to pretty much any kind of music, but alternative rock and R&B have currently caught my attention. I'm pretty sure that'll change soon enough.
My favorite authors are John Green, Ellen Hopkins, and Laurie Halse Anderson. I absolutely despise Catcher in the Rye because I hate Holden Caulfield. My favorite novels would have to be Looking for Alaska and Go Ask Alice.
Currently, my favorite TV show is Glee. I just find it to be so true to the high school experience, minus all the singing, obviously. I was obsessed with Gossip Girl for a while, but now, it barely catches my attention. I also have a soft spot for the original Degrassi series, which ended in the early nineties.
My favorite movies...I'd have to go with Thirteen, Kids, The Virgin Suicides, and Hard Candy. I saw Kids when I was eleven and my sister was shocked. Apparently, it scars even the most composed of adults, but I turned out fine.
Cookies and cream and chocolate chip cookie dough have always been my favorite ice cream flavors. It's just undisputed. :P
Pizza is hands down, my favorite food. I used to swallow a pepperoni slice every single day, but I've now cut down to plain slices. Baby steps...
I'm way under one hundred pounds. Metabolism is evil.
I started writing when I was six or seven, and I'm severely embarrassed every time I read something I wrote back then. I'd like to think that I've gotten better over the years. :) I've always loved writing because creating my own world is a dream. To have a character or two that are entirely your own, that you can mold into nearly anything you want...It's an amazing concept.
I'd love to meet Emily Bronte/Ellis Bell. Wuthering Heights is my favorite classic novel, particularly because of Heathcliff, who is so incredibly complex.
I am either failing or nearly failing English. I'll find out on Tuesday when I get my progress report which will be...joyous.
I just panicked because I thought I lost this entire post.
And I smell dinner, so I have to go for now! :D See you later!
