My name's Laura and I'm 13 years old!

I currently writing a story. It's not very long at the minute as I've only done just under 1,000 words. I've started many stories, but have never ever finished one. I now have a goal to finish this one I'm writing.

Hey, welcome to YWS! I've never been able to finish a novel either - sad, I know - so it looks like we already have something in common! Maybe you try a NaNoWrMo in November! That's what I'm going to do!

Don't be shy about posting around the forums. Oh, and if you're going to post one of your stories, please remember that we have a 2:1 ratio on YWS. Basically, you have to review two stories for every one you put up. It's not hard, though, and there's a lot of great writing around the site to read and critique!

It's great you're already writing a story, what genre is it?
If you want to get it kickstarted the best thing to do is post the first few chapters, you'll get some great reviews. If you want the best then PM an instuctor (their names are purple) and they'll do a really thorough review for you.

Ok, some rules:
1) the 2:1 ratio, 2 reviews for every sumbission of your work. Keeps it all moving nicely:).
2) dnt spk lyk dis OR LIKE THIS. It's a writers forum and we try to keep it that way.
3) rate your work, if it has swear words then best to go pg-13. If it's got sexual content or the f word then rate it R.

Those are the important ones, but check out the rules to be on the safe side.
Anyway, down to you.

My story's fantasy/adventure.

What's your favourite genre to read/write? fantasy and real life sort of think.

what animal would you say you were? Ooh that's hard.. Erm maybe a Snail... because they're slow.. and I'm slow.. I don't get jokes easily
Who is your favourite author ? and why? Jodi Picoult.. because she asks some questions, that are really difficult to answer.

So, I bet you may be wondering about all the colorful names on the site. I'll just fill you in on that a little. I hope you don't mind.

Black - These are regular members, like you and me.
Blue - Greeters! Their job is to greet new members and welcome them warmly to YWS. We want everyone to have a great time from the beginning of their arrival. ^-^
Purple - Instructors! Probably the best reviewers on the site, instructors critique stories and poems. They help everyone find their weaknesses and strengths, while giving them a way to fix their style. All in all, the instructors are extremely helpful and nice.
Light Green - Junior moderators! They are assigned to watch over a specific forum and make sure that everything is running smoothly.
Dark Green - Moderators! These are the people that watch over the entire site, helping solve any problems that might occur and making sure that YWS is like a fine-tuned machine.
Orange - Distinguished Members! They are the retired moderators and just all around awesome.
Red - Administration! There are three administrators: Nate, Firestarter, and Meshugenah. All three are extremely amazing and keep the site running greatly.

Fantasy is a wonderful genre. I tend to write about magical worlds and such, myself. There's just something I love about magic.

Do you have a favorite part to writing or do you just love the process as a whole? And I'm guessing you write stories mostly? Or do you write poems?

Good luck with your novel and keep heading towards the finish line. ^-^ Just remember every word gets you closer to the end, so don't give up. You'll do great.

Hi Laura and welcome to YWS! I know the feeling about never finishing a story. I started so many when I was younger but I just let them die up. I think that's why I switched to poetry, because it's shorter so I can actually finish the first draft.
