Hey everyone! My name is Bridget and I am 17 and a writer. I love to write realistic fiction as well as fantasy and historical. I also write poetry. Well lately I'e been getting frustrated with myself and my writers block and can't seem to get a good story going. It totally sucks... I've written a first draft of my novel. It's called Love, Annabelle. If you want to know more just ask!

Hello, Bridget, and welcome to the Young Writers' Society! If you have writers' block, this is the perfect place to come. You can read and write alike, along with reviewing in any category you please.

Before you begin posting away in this wonderful little world, there are a few rules you should know.

1) 2:1 ratio. For every new topic you post, it would be lovely if you could also post two reviews. This just keeps things running, so we don't have a million people begging for reviews and none giving them.

2) No cht spk or ALL CAPS. These are just annoying, and, since we are writers, we should speak as them, also . . . not that I'm saying you need any help with this! You seem to be doing very well already; keep it up!

Anyway, if you have any more questions, you can PM me, or anybody who's names are colored in blue, green, or red. Write on!

Welcome! YWS is definitely the place to be!!! I see Abigail went over some of the rules with you. In case your wondering what the colorful names are; here's a clue.

Black: Regular Members.
Blue: Greeters. They are most active in the welcome forum, specializing in making sure new people get welcomed properly and laid down with ground rules.
Purple: Instructors. They help people improve their work by writing long and in-depth critiques and they may publish writing tips.
Light Green: Junior moderators. They help upkeep forums by locking, moving and redirecting threads, but only on one board.
Green: The same things as Junior Moderators, but they ukeep forums on a whole section of boards.
Red: Administrators, who are responsible for the upkeep of the forum. They can practically do anything.

So again, welcome! Feel free to PM me with any questions or if you need a friend to check out some of your stuff. I'll do my best!

~Dakota

Hi Bridget!
Welcome to YWS, where we're one big happy family XD
So you like to write realistic and fantasy fiction, eh?
That's two complete opposites XD
A question: You also write historical fiction, is there any specific era which you prefer to write about? :D
Besides just writing, we're also here to make friends, so tell us more about yourself!
Your likes, dislikes, favourite music/band/book/author etc.
Go ahead and PM me if you've got any questions :D

~Have a good day! :)

Hiyas, Bridget! Welcome to YWS! :) It's wonderful to meet you.

Historical fiction is always fun to write and read. ^-^ The Salem Witch trials seem like a fun time period to write in. If you post any of that story you want to write about it, please PM me so I can read it. :)

But let's learn a little more about you. ;)
~What's your favorite color?
~Who's your favorite author? Favorite book?

niteowl- that is probably the most fantastic gift ever. Thanks!

Mira-

My favorite color... it used to be green for a long time but it recently changed to yellow. I don't know why though... I like red too.

Hmm... favorite author. Well I really like Laurie Faria Stolarz and her Blue is for Nightmares series. But I also love Harry Potter... I love a lot of authors but I think my favorite would be Laurie Stolarz. But my favorite classic is Jane Eyre. =D

and i'd meet Johnny Depp. I love him so much. haha. I would just want to have a good conversation with him... and stuff. He seems pretty cool and he's so pretty to look at. =D

Johnny Depp! *freaks* I'd totally meet him too <3 xD

Anyway, seems everything has been explained, so I'll just ramble along. It's only fun to read some random stuff, right?

I like yellow too! It's the banana color xD Huh, Harry Potter! I love the serie! Have you watched the movies too? I didn't like the last one very much. But there is a group for HP fans here on YWS! If you click on the button at the top that says Groups, and then scroll down you'll find a group called Hogwarts Express.

Have a nice day! And PM me if you need anything,
~Kat

P.S: I'm Kat, by the way *shakes hand*
Piglet: How do you spell love?
Pooh: You don't spell it. You feel it.

Hey Bridget ^^ Welcome to YWS ;) I'm Shina, one of the instructor-greeters here on the site. It is my job and my pleasure to greet the newbs of YWS.

We have a 2:1 ratio here, but it'll soon become a 3:1 ratio, meaning you need 3 reviews to post one of your works.

NO CAPS. EVER. :P

No chatspeak, ever xD

Be nice.

I think those are pretty given rules, but just to be sure xD

This weekend is the Grand Reopening of YWS, so join in the super duper fun awesome time, okay?

-Shina
