I'm La Reina, as name states, and I'd just like to welcome you to the site!
First things first, there are a few rules here on YWS, as there are everywhere else. However, I won't go through some crazy amount of hundreds, but I'll just give you a few of the main rules we abide by at YWS (or, well, mostly).
One. Please try to refrain from using chatspeak. "Chatspeak", if you don't already know, is when someone uses improper grammar when talking. Words like, "because", get shortened to, "becuz", and "later", gets shortened to, "l8r". Stuff like that. Try to refrain from using it, because we all want to become better writers, right? And you don't see J.K Rowling, per say, using chatspeak in her novels. "lol" is okay, though, and minor stuff like that.
Two. Right-o, rule two is what I like to refer to as, the "YWS 2:1 Review Count". This means that for every one post, you review two times. Okay? Sounds good?
Although there are really only two main rules, a few other things you should know:
All works should be rated. That means that if there is content that some viewers may not want to read, and language, then it should be rated R. R-rated works will not appear on the YWS homepage.
Another thing you should know is that not every person on YWS has the same coloured name:
Black: Regular member.
Blue: Greeters, in charge of greeting new members and letting them know how the site works.
Purple: Instructors. These guys give very detailed critiques, help with grammar, and upon occassion, will lead classes.
Light green/ Green: Moderators. In charge of keeping all forums in check, as well as members.
Red: The mighty of all mighty. These guys either A) created the site or, B) help run the site. Nate helped to create it, and Firestarter and Meshugenah help to run it as well. If you bow down to anyone, I suggest these guys, though you should respect all member.
Orange: Distinguished members. They've been described to leave the Moderation ranks honorably.
And last, but certainly not the least, Respect all members. Why? Because, it's called "Karma", baby. (snort-laugh at my cheesiness). Anyways, what goes around comes around. If you're nice and review someone's work, heck, they're bound to probably review something of yours.
Now, I noticed that you're saying you need some help navigating around the site? There's a handy tool in the Welcome forum called, The Buddy System. You can sign up, and someone will help you find your way around the site, and answer any question you may have.
Now, Nyiiri, tell us a bit about yourself? Other than simply being lost, what genre do you like to write? Have you ever finished/ published a novel/ work? Favourite author(s)? Favourite book(s)? What about movies? Favourite food? What about cookies? Simple stuff like that.
Anywho, if you need any help, just drop me a line, okay?

How can you comment? Well, when you're reading a work and you want to post, you can click on the Post Reply sign, or start commenting on the white square that says Quick Reply, on the bottom of the page.
Anyway, hope you have a great time...
Oh! And make a blog later on...
