Hello, Young Writer's Society inhabitants! I'm The Gekko but on a more normal note you can just call me Joel.

A few random facts about me is that I'm obsessed with lizards, I love anime/manga, cats and foxes are my favorite mammals, I will someday be a famous graphic artist and bananas are the spawn of the devil.

A few of my favorite animes are:

My favorite poet in the entire world is Edgar Allen Poe because 'To Octavia' and 'Anbelle Lee' stole my heart away. Misashi Kishimoto is my favorite artist because of his use of bright colors and textures *Andy Warhol is my second favorite*.

Welcome to YWS

There are absolutely loads of anime and manga lovers here. If you got to the literature index, you can find art and photography.

There's a few simple rules at YWS, just to keep everyone happy:


We have a ratio of 2 reviews: 1 piece of work, it just keep things fair

No swearing in your reviews, no one likes it especially the site moderators

Please reframe from graphic sex scenes, though light intimacy is fine

Give your work a rating depending on it's content (pg-13, R, g...ect)

Try to edit your work up to the best of your ability before you put it on here


Most importantly have fun!

There are loads of things to do on YWS including discussion forums in just about everything, the literacy forums where you can read and review work. There's games to play on and loads of people to meet, it's great to chat to other writers as you'll find so many of them share your interests.

There is also an instant chat program where everyone is really friendly, just pop by and introduce yourself sometime.

Joel! Hiyas! Welcome to YWS!

It's wonderful to meet you. It seems as if Zaddie told you all about the rules. So I'll tell you a bit about the different members here on the site.

Depicted by different colors:

Purple - Instructors! They create a wonderful world of grammar and happen to be the best reviewers on the site.
Blue - Greeters! They hide in the Welcome forum, waiting for new members to appear. They help entry into YWS be safe and smooth.
Green - Moderators. Light green (junior mods) watch over one specific forum, while dark greens (full mods) watch over all the forums.
Red - Administration. They are the most awesome people on the site (no offense to anyone else) and make sure everything runs smoothly.
Orange - Distinguished members. They are the retired moderators.

But back to you! Sailor Moon? That was my favorite show when I was younger! And I totally love your avatar!

What's your favorite color? What type of music do you usually listen to?

Mira: Hi there! My favorite color is green/flaming red I listen to most types of music ranging from Colt Ford(country/rap), Queen(70's-80's rock), Katy Perry(pop) all the way the Alexander Rybak which I'm not quite sure what he is o_o I just don't listen to hard rap or bluegrass, unless its good

I used to watch Sailor Moon all the time! I don't really watch much anime anymore though. Well, sometime if nothing's on I'll watch Totally Spies, but that doesn't really count!

Awesome music there too! Can't beat Queen! Though I've never heard of Alexander Rybak... I guess I'll have to listen to some of his music tomorrow. Have you ever listened to Paramore? Paramore is one of the best current bands. (At least in my opinion!) They beat the Jonas Brothers, that's for sure! (Though a monkey with an accordion would be better than them, but that's another story and just my opinion as well.)

I love Naruto, DeathNote, Inuyasha, and Sailor Moon as well! I was so sad when they canceled Sailor Moon on Cartoonnet work and I didn't think any body ven knew what InuYasha was!

First person in two years? Wowzers. Inuyasha is awesome. I'm not totally into it, but it is a great series. However, I don't much seeing as I only read a few manga of it.

lizards huh? is it safe to assume that we'll be seeing some stories and poems about lizards?

anime isn't really my thing and it's hard for me to differentiate what's really anime and what's just regular cartoons, i assume there is a difference right?

I've watched Wolf's Rain. I think that's anime. It's a mature cartoon show but that's just a suggestion i'd like to throw out.

i admit i did watch dragonball z because i wanted to be a saiyan hella bad. lol

well, i'm relatively new too so that makes two of us!
