Okay, I know that sounds ridiculous, and maybe I'm not exactly "afraid" of writing. But lately, writing's lost all it's fun for me. Every time I try to write something, I'll get 1 or 2 pages down. Then I'll look at what I've written, realize it's absolute junk, and rewrite it a dozen times before finally tossing the story. It's gotten to the point where I haven't written anything for months, because what's the point? I know I won't get very far into the story, because I find myself constantly having to edit and re-edit everything I've written. Even if I know that no one else will ever read the story but me, I still have this urge to perfect it. And it takes forever for me to write something in the first place, because I have to make sure each and every word I write is just right, and if it's not, the entire story must be rewritten.
It's become rather pathetic. Does anyone have any tips to at least motivate me to write again? On one hand, I want to write, I really do, but on the other... I don't know. It's just become such a frustrating ordeal to write, because I want to make it good, but I'm sure it's not healthy to spend hours rewriting your prologue. Help!
