Stepping into the light,
out of the dark.
I see the door knob.
I reach out, and grasp it.
It's such a feeling i have inside,
it's like butterflies, only a little bit different.
The kind of feeling where you can do anything.
I'm untouchable.
I was here only hours ago,
but everything's changed now.
I've changed.
Everything's different, was it me that did this?
They said it wasn't my fault.
They say it was an accident.
"He just kept on hitting me, he wouldn't stop.." I said.
They beleived, I was freed.
And now I'm here.
I just wanted to see where I did it.
Is the blood still on the floor.
Did they already carry his body away?
I creep in to his old, musty bedroom.
And all these memories flood my mind.
I push them out, I just can't take it.
I feel my damp tears linger on my cheeks, I ignore them.
I'm in, I did it.
I sense his presence.
But I know he's gone, for good.
And for the first time all night, I smile.
I replay the scene in my head.
I was crying beside my mom on the floor.
She was gone, I knew it.
And then I hit him with the wrench I brought with me.
I now embrace my tears.
I can't do anything for my mother,
but I can do something for me.
And then I walk out, and close the door behind me.. forever.
