I wouldn't join a fight club, but some sort of wrestling or grappling might be cool- you know, where people give up before they get hurt too much?

I hate punching and kicking stuff though- I have a terribly low threshold for pain. And besides, I'm good at grappling since I'm so big lol.

I hate violence of any sort. I'd never join.

But fencing is cool, as long as your careful.

I like peace. And my teeth. My dad didn't pay $3000 for me to go get my teeth knocked out. So NO...I wouldn't join.

But aren't you afraid that this is a little too much like copying?

Have you ever read the book by Chuck Putchutakwhatchmafigger? (Can't remember his last name, damned...) It's better than the movie.

No, because I'm definitely not planning on trying to publish this or anything. The characters in the book do basically get the idea from the movie, but I got the idea from real life rather than the movie or the book. (A fight club got started at a high school in a town that borders the town this takes place in.) I think I hadn't yet seen the movie when I decided to integrate this into the novel. Also, the fight club isn't a central part of what I'm writing at all. If I was planning on publishing this, I might be worried about copying, but I'm not, so it doesn't matter.

I haven't read the book. Is it a lot like the movie or is it really different?

Okay, I have yet another question for you guys--those of you who would join. Would you tell your parent(s)/guardian(s) about the club (assuming you lived with them at the time you were in it)? If so, how do you think they would they react? If not, how would you explain your black eyes, etc.?

Hearing these stories makes me realize that I never did anything with my childhood.
