Ok, like the title says, just answer the question before you and then ask a new question. This will make it so you don't have to start an entire new thread for every little question you have. I'll start.


When a story is in past tense, and the main character is thinking something, would they think in present tense?

Correct.

Thoughts are usually in present tense, and first person.

So, if you wanted to change this line into thoughts:

She hoped nothing bad would happen

You would rewrite it like so:

I hope nothing bad will happen.

Does that make sense?
