Ghost Child - Chapter Six
I rolled over. Where was I? Was it a dream? No, it wasn’t a dream. My eyes wrenched back. I was on a king sized white bed in a white room with white carpets. Everything was white. Great. A man with huge white wings came from behind a door, “Ah, my love! You’re awake!” He had black hair and striking gold eyes.
Wait; did he just call me ‘love’? It seamed rude to blurt out, “Who the Hell are you?” so I kept my mouth shut.
“Rina, I’ve missed you dearly,” he sat on the bed and noticed my confused expression, “Rina you do remember me, right?”
I slowly shook my head and my eyes locked on a white necklace he was wearing. It was exactly like my piece of coal but white. I knew who he was and I didn’t like it too much.
“Maybe this will spark a memory,” He leaned over and kissed me.
I should have been mad, hating him for kissing me but this…this was Xander. Xander, the Ghost Child from Heaven. My lovely, wonderful, gorgeous—no. I shook my head and pulled away, trying my best to glare at him.
“Is something wrong?” Xander asked.
“Yeah,” I grumbled, “Take me to see the guys.” ‘But mainly Lex,’ I added silently to myself.
Xander sighed, “Rina, I know you want to see Lex and I won’t deny your right but you and me are in love.”
I gapped at him. My eyes flew back and my mouth dropped open. I got angry and snorted, “You expect me to love you? I just met you!” My hands felt on fire and suddenly the white curtains burst into flames. Then seconds later, they iced over. Figures, I could control fire and he could control ice.
“In time you’ll love me,” He sighed and I groaned. I yawned and he asked, “Tired?” I glared at him still but nodded and fell onto the bed. He lay next to me. Xander wrapped his arms around me and suddenly out necklaces glowed and we lifted them off our necks. They joined together and Xander whispered, “Watch.”
The colors of everything around us blurred together and then straightened out to form a picture around us. We were sitting on a field by a river. It shocked me so much that I moved from Xander and out necklaces dropped and we were in the white room again. I grabbed my necklace and it settled into place around my neck.
I pointed at the door, “I’d like to sleep alone,” I actually glanced at the windows in the room and it was dark outside. No wonder I was tired.
Xander got up and sighed, “I was hoping we would have picked up where we left off before you…took a new body. But I see that Lex is coming in the way,” He walked out the door muttering, “Good thing he’ll be gone soon.”
I tried to ignore his last words as he shut he door. Sagging against the pillows, I hoped to dream without the Grim Reaper.
“Ghost Child,”
I was sitting in a hard, gray chair; like the ones they used at my old school. I looked up. Blackness surrounded me.
“I heard your distress,” Grim said.
Heard my distress? How can you hear emotions?
“What’s wrong my child?”
“I don’t love Xander,” I said stubbornly, “And I hate my ability. It brought me into this whole mess. Take it back!”
“Is that all?”
“Of course it is.”
He started to walk away from me.
“Wait! My ability! Take it back, I don’t want to have it.” I was on the verge of tears soon.
He continued to walk away into the darkness until it fully covered him. All was left was me whimpering in my chair.

I woke up and got form the bed. I searched through the closet and found a white cami and black Bermuda shorts with white converse. After getting ready in the bathroom, I heard a knock on my door and Xander came it.
“Breakfast?” he smiled and carried in a tray of cereal, toast and orange juice.
I grunted and said, “I can get my own breakfast, thank you very much,” and pushed past him into the hallway. I half jogged down the hallway and came to a room guarded by a man in metal armor. What, was this the medieval times? I wouldn’t be surprised if it was.
“Excuse me? What room is this?” I asked the guard.
“The cells where the prisoners are kept.” He answered me looking dead over my head and down the hallway.
“May I enter? I’d like to see three of the prisoners.”
“No one my enter—“ he looked at me and stuttered, “—ex-except you Princess Rina.”
Princess Rina?! He opened the door for me. Unlocking the first room he said, “Sir Bradley.”
I walked in and almost got knocked down by Brad. “RINA!” he remarked and squeezed me.
“Hey Brad!” I smiled, “What’s up?”
“I’m a criminal!” Brad stated proudly, “I’m also apparently homicidal!”
“You’re…happy? Brad, you’re a Fallen Angel. Shouldn’t you be all…emo and angsty?” I asked him.
Brad did a full out laugh, “HA! You’re so silly Rina. Fallen Angels being emo? Pffffft,” he gave me a quirky smile.
I laughed with him and we made small talk. He said that he was coming to my trial so I told him I would go to his. Brad also told me that he would go onto trial first, then Heath and lastly Lex.
The guard opened the door and escorted me from the room. He walked to Heath’s room, “Sir Heath,” he announced and opened the door for me. I wasn’t sure what I would talk about with Heath.
He looked up at me, the shock showing on his face when I entered, “Rina? What’s happening?”
“Oh the usual. I’m about to go to court to see if I’m going to die or not,” I waved my hand in nonchalance.
Heath smiled, “Awesome. Did you visit Brad and Lex?”
“Only Brad,” I leaned against the wall.
“Good choice!” Heath nodded approval, “I wouldn’t go visit Lex. I think he’s mad…like deathly mad.”
My face scrunched up and I groaned, “Oh I’ll try to deal with him.”
“Have fun doing that then,” Heath lay on his bed in the cell when the guard opened the door.
I stood outside Lex’s room for a couple of minutes before I said, “Open it.”
“Sir Alexander.” And the door came open.
Lex was on his bed, facing the wall. He didn’t even look at me when I walked in, it was like his brain didn’t register that I was standing there. I felt like I stood there for the longest time before I asked, “Why are you mad?”
He turned around. My beautiful, gorgeous Lex turned around, “Oh like you don’t know.”
“I-I don’t know! What is it?”
“It starts with an X and ends in Ander.”
“What did Xander ever do? I swear I haven’t done anything. I’m not in love with him.”
“So the rumors aren’t true?” he asked as a question almost to himself.
“What rumors? Lex, what’s going on?” I demanded.
“Rumor is you kissed and he spent the night with you,” Lex snorted.
“He did kiss me but only because he wanted to ‘love each other again’. I pulled away immediately.”
“Okay, come here sweet.” Lex patted the seat next to him on the bed. I sat down and he looked almost scared when he tilted my head up to him and leaned to me. He did lock lips with me and we spent the next couple minutes kissing. I tried to pull back when he grabbed my arms.
“Lex—“ his eyes flashed red.
I tried to get away from him as soon as I could but he had a firm grip on my arms. I struggled as he breathed in my scent.
“Lex, you need blood.”
“Yes, love, I do.” He cooed and licked his teeth. Fangs.
The sensible person, in my situation, would have screamed, “Fire!” and started a fire or just scream in general but not me. My body when into lockdown mode and I sat in frozen terror as Lex growled at me. He leaned to my neck and was about to bite.
