Note: Again, this is another piece that was inspirational piece that I wrote. I really like it because of what I was thinking about at the time and I love it because it's something different from what I usually write. I'd love to hear what everyone thinks about it. Please be honest because I'm entering this into BBB's contest and this is like the second song I wrote because I didn't really like the other one. And also, these were actually verses but I decided to split them up because I was thinking about how singer's take pauses in songs and it reads better without it being clumped together, so enjoy.
The Talking of Swans
By Angel of Death
Lessons don't teach itself
We're in a world where life is all
And the sun is on a broken shelf
Soon it will fall
We lean on a windowpane
Hoping it will protect us from the rain
And look at the devil's rags
Their resting in front of our souls
Waiting for us to rise the white flags
Rise them high
Rise them high
Make them touch the flaming sky
Chorus
No matter what they say
We're still here
Chase the doves away
They don't belong here
The talking of swans
Their words so beautiful
And we're their fawns
So young and useful
The day it hailed
Trinkets of gold tainted the sea
We tried to get the riches, but we failed
And now we're drifting away from reality
Nothing makes sense anymore
One day the rich will become poor
And the birds will sing
Flying away on their holy wings
They'll laugh at us and we will cry
But they won't hear us as we die
As we slip into oblivion
We shed every sin
Chorus
No matter what they say
We're still here
Chase the doves away
They don't belong here
The talking of swans
Their words are so beautiful
And we're their fawns
So young and useful
