OK, if anyone knows anything about me, it's that I am a debater. I will debate about anything, but here's what I've noticed. I always end up being a jerk  . I don't mean to, but when you're in the middle of a heated discussion, well, you know.. This is aggravated by the fact that I am typing on a computer.
I would never be as heated as i am when i debate on the computer, because I am actually talking to the person. Not to say I don't realize I'm talking to real people.. but still.

I need help to control my over the top debtedness.
But i can't quit it, because debating is an integral part of who I am.

Please help me..
I am not looking for sympathy.

Ha, you're just upset because Nate called you a jerk.

I personally thought you weren't, but whatever!

Your telling me you are a jerk in debates. Ha. I got banned because of being a jerk in debates.. Top that. (I am not liable of anything stupid that my earlier remark might or might not make you do....)

Bragging about being jerks now?

There is a way to debate without being a jerk, and often times not being a jerk will actually mean that people will hear what you are trying to say.

Being sarcastic, mean, or rude during a debate will typically make people not really care to hear what you have to say. Even if they are on the same side of the debate as you.

I give no sympathy, I debate as well, and even when the debate gets heated, I am capable of keeping my temper and my words in check. Perhaps you should simply learn some self control ;)

Maybe you should write out everything, then wait ten minutes before you send it to the site. Then re-read it. And see if you still agree with what you're saying.

Don't use fallacies. If you're arguments are that heated, most likely it's geared to the emotions and not to logic.

EDIT: Also, I'm locking this as well. It really isn't that big of a deal, so don't sweat too much about it. Just learn from your mistakes and continue on. That's all we ask.
