Why Can't I Have An Image In My Signature On YWS?

At most forum based Web sites, you can have an image in your signature. However, you cannot do this on YWS.

There are three reasons for this:

1) It can stretch the page
Sometimes, the width of the image will be greater than the site itself, which causes the page to stretch.

2) Loading times
A lot of people still use dial-up, and image signatures can be humongous. It already takes ten to twenty seconds to load a YWS page on a dial-up connection; adding the burden of unnecessary images to that can double or even triple loading times.

3) They're annoying and ugly
On small threads, 75% of the height of the thread will be the image signature alone. Plus, if you think ads are annoying, image signatures are doubly so.

Hope that clears up any questions you may have. If you disagree with the rule, I suggest MySpace as an appropriate alternative for you.

People have avatars for a reason. Why *would* they need an image in their signature?

Haha... Priceless.

You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension: a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You’re moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You’ve just crossed over into… the Twilight Zone.
