Note: I have mentioned this subject in my blog if you want a little more info why on Earth would I bother, except for the more obvious reason for those who know me well enough. You know who you are.
So, a couple things here. There will be two "posts," if you will. One is my original manuscript and the other is the actual article. This way you can see the very slight alterations the Editor did to my work. He or she didn't bother editing my grammar - a miracle. Also, for my own protection, I had to eliminate my actual location which was found under my name and also the name of the newspaper. Sorry. It's not like I'm afraid of a stalker but like me who is a wee bit older than most of you guys, there are some who also are in their "elder" years. (My feeble plea of paranoia. Sue me).
Second, while it is mentioned in my blog, I feel the need to mention it again. I thanked YWS. I know Nate owns the site but collectively, my literary skills would have never improved without the help of you all, nor without YWS would have I found my niche - Historic- Fiction. After writing in Non for quite a few years, then moving onto Historic-Fiction, this article was much easier in forming my ideas and opinions. Had even attempted it, say four years ago, I'd have failed miserably. While I say thanks to Nate, without the strong community here, there would be no YWS. Thank you all for guiding me over the years.
Last but not least, just so you all aren't absolutely clueless after reading, I'll supply a few links that will hopefully guide and see my sources.
As a final thought too, I had to wait a month. You all have no idea how that felt. I wanted badly to post my article here but had to wait first to see it published, if the newspaper ever decided to waste ink on me.
Cheers, and enjoy.
