My names Jude and this is the first forum post I've ever done!
I've been writing for years on and off whenever I've had the time
and performed it in various forms as well. Too many influences
and favourite musicians to list and not sound dull. Don't really
enjoy talking myself up so I'll just leave it at that then.

Welcome to YWS Jude! It sounds like you'll fit in here ^.^ Most of us came from writing a bit for a hobby and finally getting to the internet and coming here. Who are some of those favorite musicians you talked about?

What kinds of things do you write most?

Mostly for this site you just need to remember that every piece of work you post you should have done two reviews of other people's work, just to make sure that everyone gets good reviews and then more people will want to review your work.

Thanks everyone. I'll make sure and stick to the two review rule.
I guess I'm into lots of different musicians and writers that have
probably influenced whatever I write, any kind of old blues artist
especially. Also French poets, Rimbaud and Verlaine, also Byron,
whoever.
I write music and perform it solo at some places but not too serious.
Just me and my acoustic guitar and have performed some of the
verse at open-mic things whenever
I'm in a city or somewhere where theres a club that does them.
Whatever you write always changes when you read it out loud to other
people

Yeah A Season in Hell, Illuminations are fantastic.
I just put some music to a Rimbaud poem called
"Clever Girl" and am going to be performing it soon
whenever I get the chance to anyways.

I certainly would but unfortunately I don't have any
recording equipment at hand. Its just a simple
melody over the poem but i like it. I will try and
let you know if anything happens.
Its not often I find somebody interested in his poetry
especially when did you first start reading his
work.

Well my friend first told me about him not long ago, maybe a few months less than a year. I've read most of a Season in Hell just recently, but I'm still not finished.

Do you like Baudelaire? Or Neruda?
