Young writer newbie here <3!!

Hi, I'm Summerless, and this is my first time actually posting and making a topic in the forums.

A little about me (in case any of you care : D)

O I'm thirteen :]
O I have some experience with forums (because of my experience on Gaia Online) and I'm a total BBCode lover <33
O I'm currently working on writing my own book (4th attempt > <)
O I'm still a bit clueless about this whole site, since I signed up two or three days ago, so any advice will be loved.

My Questions

If you know the answers to any of these and you don't mind sharing, please post them <3!

- Are role-play threads allowed in Young Writers Society's forums?
- Does there have to be a certain time interval between posts? (I know users have to wait 45 secs. or 1 min. between posts on Gaia)
- What do you do with points?

As for your questions......
1) I believe that there is a thread in one of the forums for role-playing. It's just a case of finding it....Sorry, I'm not too hot on the role-playing front.
2) I don't think there does. When it comes to posting just steer away from posting on the same thread just after you have posted. Someone will reply soon!
3) Ah, points. You earn them from posting on YWS in certain forums and you don't really spend them. If you build up a lot of points then you will be on the front page under 'Top 5 user points'. If you get to the top of that then you might (only if you've been active mostly in the literary forums) be featured member.

An add-on to the points thing: You spend 150 points to post one of your things in the literary forums, but you can earn up to 50 back depending on the length. You earn points by reviewing and in certain other threads. We also ask that you keep reviewing/writing to at least a 2:1 ratio to maintain a balance.

You might check out the "Storybooks" thread. I think that's like role-playing. There's also "The Kingdom of Evandor" (a usergroup) but that may be dead. I'm not sure.

If you have any questions/concerns about the site, or just want a critique, feel free to PM me. I'm always glad to help (though be warned: I do not critique poetry. Sorry!)

As for your questions:
-Yes, there is a storybook section here. It's the same as a role-playing game, except in the format of a book.
-I'm pretty sure the time interval is between 15-45 seconds. As far as I know.
-If you get the most points out of all the users, you become the Featured Member for x amount of time (this doesn't mean go and spam to get points). Also, it costs 150 points to post a topic in the literary forums. So if you want to post any of your work, it costs 150 points.

You may want to check out the FAQ's, as they might help answer some of your questions. And also, before you post any of your work, be sure to critique two other pieces. Here at YWS we have a 2:1 ratio. Not only will it help your work get reviews, but it will help others as well.

So what is it you like to read? Write? What bands do you enjoy listening to? Do you like chocolate or vanilla better? Salty or sweet? Land or sea? Pen or pencil? ^.^

I'm not sure anyone has mentioned it, but it seems you bumped this thread by just posting "<3". I don't know how it is on Gaia, but here, bumping is a most hated action. Please do not bump any of your threads, spam, or post right after yourself. If you need to say something else, edit your thread.


^^ Hope you enjoy YWS. Oh, and as to the next post thing, it doesn't exactly matter. Just don't post after yourself in the same thread (like I mentioned above) and it is also suggested that you don't flood the boards with your own writing.
