Cynical World

We stand in a withering field,
littered with our broken dreams.
The words that you speak
are blinded by the feeling of guilt.
The summer-blue skies fade away,
as our bones weaken in
the realm of
a cynical world.

The sun erodes away
at the corner of your eye.
Your limited days are spilled,
wasted upon your insolence.
A fate for a criminal
in this cynical world.

We sail on the same boat,
bound by eternal vows
that slowly crumble
our hearts to dust.
We'll drift endlessly
in this doubtful place,
Before the shards
of forgotten memories
tear us apart.

The liminality of nightmares,
it seems far away,
running away from us
towards the side of darkness.
And we'll be together,
to live and die
in this cynical world.
Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

Impressive. My only comment is that (in my oppinion) the lines
"Your limited days are spilled,
wasted upon your insolence."
sound a bit odd... but hey, that's just me. Good job.
