Hello all. I am Cobweb. I’m alternately a writer and a professional bum, depending on my optimism level. I love writing and, even more, reading. I guess you could describe me as a fairly typical American youth; I suppose I’m not extremely special. My opinion isn’t always profound. But I’m writing it as I see it, with all the conflict we face as we try to enter life from the merging lane. And maybe that’s what makes it interesting. I don’t know. I am always open to suggestions or critiques.
Hey Cobweb! I'm really excited because I just got confirmed as a greeter, which basically means I get to welcome all the new members in a more official way... yay:)
So welcome to YWS, singularly the most amazing site in the world:) If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. And if you'd like to let me know when you've posted some writing I'd love to critique it! Just to let you know, we try to keep reviewing versus writing at a 2:1 ratio.
Have fun checking out all the awesomeness on the site, and again, if you have any questions just PM me:)
I liked that, because it's probably what I am too, also depending on my optimism levels.
Welcome to YWS!
I haven't been here long myself, but it seems like a good place. Everyone's friendly, and very good at constructive criticism if you ever need any.
Enjoy!
Everywhere I go I'm asked if I think the university stifles writers. My opinion is that they don't stifle enough of them. There's many a bestseller that could have been prevented by a good teacher. ~Flannery O'Connor
Hey Cobweb!!! Guess what? YOU'RE A WINNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tell her what she won, Charlie.
WELL COBWEB, AS A LITTLE THANK YOU PRESENT FOR JOINING THE YOUNG WRITER'S SOCIETY, HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERE'S YOUR GIFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ello, Cobweb! The name's Monki. It sucks that Niteowl's gotten to you first. I was gonna do that huge welcoming ceremony! (Even thought Niteowl started it...) Well, I really hope you like it here. Be sure to review and post some work of your own. I'd love to critique some of your work or just chat if you're bored.
<3,

Hey Cobweb, I'm Maybe (May for short). Welcome to YWS! I hope you like it here! Don't worry, we don't bite...too hard.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the site, or are just looking for a critique, feel free to PM me. I'm always happy to help (but be warned: I don't critique poetry).
So what is it you like to write? What do you read? Listen to?
See you around the site! Best of luck on your writing!

Be the cartoon heart. Light a fire, light a spark. Light a fire, flame in my heart. We'll run wild, we'll be glowing in the dark.
Thank you all for the welcome. You’re very nice (unless you were just doing it to rack up those points ). And especially to those who offered to critique. I’ll defiantly take you up on that. I don’t have anyone to do that, other than the editors who reject my work and they are very brief. Also, I’ll gladly do the same for any of you; let me know what’s at the top of your list for needing a critique.
For those who ask, I’m currently plugging away at my first full length novel–a fantasy–word count at forty-five thousand. I’m also working on a shorter novel, a children’s fantasy. I write short stories when ever I can, commentaries and essays as well as poetry and songs. *whew!*
I listen to many a different genera of music, but I’d have to say rock is at the top of my list, followed by folk/Celtic rock. I’m part of a band (rock) and plan on starting a Celtic rock band as soon as our lead singer finishes a move. Our music can be listened to on our site or our MySpace (we’d love to have you on our friends list!) the addressees are in my signature.
I also enjoy graphic art but sadly have had very little time for it lately. Most everything I’ve drawn (anything worth seeing, anyway) is on my site, http://theworldinoneplace.com/ While it has some writing, the site where most all my work is published is http://elisawilliams.com/ I’d love to hear what you have to say about any of the pieces.
Also, if anyone is interested enough in fantasy or has the time, I’d love to trade opinions and critiques on my fledgling novel.
