Hey, I've been a member for a couple of weeks here, so I thought I'd introduce myself and give a bit of background, but i'll keep it short cuz I know you guys are busy peeps!

So why did I start writing? Its probably due to (I'm copying old Lemony Snicket) a series of not very exciting events. I'm the youngest of ten children and I live in a small seaside town in Nothern Ireland called Newcastle, roughly about an hour from Belfast.
My family are all high achievers, so to be honest I haven't told my parents about wanting to be an author, for fear of killing them.

A few random facts are that I'm magnificently bad at maths- seriously, I should enter a competition at it or something, my teacher in secondary school nearly had a stroke trying to teach me! Also I like J.K Rowling, alot. In fact, I spent most of my holiday in Edinburgh last year going to the coffee shops where she wrote, scary, I know...Also I love making things up, people, universes, names for songs, ect.

I've only been a proper writer since last August, when a idea for book simply became to irritating to ignore and I picked up a pen and started writing...and then stopped, freaked out, and started again. Its such a cool experience, I wouldn't go as far as selling my mother for it, but i'd dangerously flirt with the idea if someone tried to make me give it up.

Thanks for reading!

And thanks for letting me join! I love it here, you guys are great!

Hi Eimear,

Welcome to YWS! :D That's great that you've started writing, you should tell your parents about it - writing may not be a stable career, but it can let you rake in the money just by having fun! Just look at J.K. Rowling, I've heard that she is richer than the queen of England, just because she wrote a series of books! Is that awesome or what? A lot of us are J.K. Rowling fans here, and I'm sure that if you look in the fanfiction section of the writing area, you'll find several Harry Potter stories.

Nine siblings! That's got to be crazy hectic! Is it hard or is it fun having so many siblings?

Ireland?! That's awesome! There aren't too many people on here from Ireland - well there might be, but I'm not exactly sure. :)

Keep on writing!

Greetings and Salutations, Eimar.

Hello there! My name is Lady Kyra. It's very nice to meet you *enthusiastic hand shake*.

Your info is very interesting. I can't imagine growing up with nine siblings, especially as the youngest. It must be very interesting! I wish I could come see you in Ireland, as I've always wanted and wished to go to Ireland (or any of Europe, really), but as the price is up there and my cash flow is down here *makes random hand motions*, it is impossible.

Lovely copy of Lemony Snicket, by the way. Inspiring. And I too love JK Rowling and would love to peruse the coffee shops where she wrote.

Your story as a writer is familiar. In my family, I'm the high achiever in grades in such, due mostly to the fact that I am super duper competitive and want to come in first. When I informed my parents that I wanted to be a writer, they about had a seismic meltdown.

They're almost over it now, though they refuse to help me pay for college. But that's what financial aid, scholarships, and student loans are for. In the end, it still feels better that I told them the truth.

Lots of luck. If you ever need a critique or just someone to talk to or rant to, I'm around. See ya' around.

Maths = Hell.

How exactly do you pronounce your name? I just can't figure it out for some reason. (Rich coming from me with a name like mine...but hey).

I hate being the youngest, although it must be different to be the youngest of ten. Nine siblings.....I bet your house is never quiet.

So, what is your favourite flavour of ice cream? Music you like?

All the best!
