Hey! I'm new, well I joined yesterday. I have no idea how I stumbled across this site really. I guess I just got lucky. I love to write, but NONE of my friends really get that whole thing so I'm glad to find so many people that do...anyway I'm a pretty friendly person So..Just saying Hi:)
I know how you feel - my friends think it's cool that I like to write but they don't really get it. So, when I want to talk about writing I come here!!

I think we all got lucky. This is a great site to improve your writing, as well as make lots of friends. I too know what you mean about friends not understanding how much you love to write. Often times I feel a bit bad when they ask me to do something and I say, "Sorry, I really have to write this!" Then they look at me with a perplexed expression, or there is dead silence on the phone and I have to quickly revise and say, "Well... at least let me finish my paragraph." They roll their eyes.
