Yes, I am indeed a newbie.
I'm not all too sure how this site works, so any help you be very very much appreciated :D

I've read some really good pieces of literature here so far and I'm glad to be part of such a talented community.

So far I have posted one piece which is here
topic24264.html

Any comments would be nice.
thank you. :)

Hello! Welcome to YWS! I don't normally overuse exclamation points like this!

What kind of help would you be looking for? I can answer just about any question about the forum itself and forum workings, but I'm rather out of practice on critiquing.

Hope you enjoy your stay, here! Also, feel free to send me a PM if you have any questions.

Yo, dude, welcome to YWS. I see you've followed the 'give two reviews before posting your own stuff' rule, and for that the mods probably love you already.

How the site works is really rather simple: it's a forum, with a few cool additional stuff added on.

The form is split into three main sections:

1) Community - for discussing stuff not really related to writing.

2) Writing - for posting up your stories/poems/scripts/artwork and reviewing the work of others.

3) Groups - for all the different groups on the site (debating group, animal group, music lovers group, etc). Once you have joined a group you can post in its forum.

Outside of the forums we have:

- Blogs - you can customise and post in your own personal blog, and read the blogs of other members. Great for better getting to know the other members.

- YWS - the official blog of YWS.

- Resources - contains information on various different writing tips, writing markets, and other such stuff.

- YWS Radio - an online radio, hosted by the charismatic site admin, Nate, with interviews of other members, and other cool stuff. The next episode is airing tonight, actually. You can listen to old episodes too.

- YWS store - buy YWS merchandise (shirts, notepads, etc.).

- Chess/Sudoku - play 'em online.

- Squills - YWS ezine. Contains articles on writing and other interesting stuff.

- Chat - a chat room. (Note: you need at least 25 reviews to get in.)

- Young Writer's Literary Journal - an anthology of stories and poems that will be released soon, and will be available from Amazon.

All of these things are either accessible via icons at the top of the forum, or from the home page.

(... I think I got everything.)

I wrote the above just for you.

Hi!

Welcome to the YWS.

I think Sureal really got everything... although the Sodoku and Chess features will soon not exist.

If you have questions or want a review/critique on something you've written, please feel free to PM me!
