A bit new.

Just joined two writing boards, so I guess I'll just repeat myself.

Hey, I'm Chance, and even though the word is French for luck, I wouldn't call myself lucky in any way at all.

I'm from Liverpool, England, where we have a few things going for us (The Beatles, Liverpool FC) but not much else. As soon as the sweet word of 'University' comes around, I'm out of here.

Just some random little things to fill up space: I speak both English and French, and I'm pretty proficient in Spanish, Italian and Norwegian too. I don't write a story without a tub of Ben & Jerry's. I like things tidy but make lots of messes. I have the tone that suggests I'm always being sarcastic, usually because I always am.

I have a chronic problem of starting stories and not finishing them. I've been trying to buckle down of this lately when I discovered in the past 2 years I've started 28 stories amassing thousands of words between them all, yet I've never finished one. I'm trying to correct this.

Although I have basic tact, I am a very open, honest person and a serious analyser, which hinders my own writing since my brain automatically goes to edit as a write, but makes me a fairly decent reviewer.

I have been taking Spanish for two years so I'm getting there. Although I've never taken French. My school doesn't supply it.

I have the SAME problem. I probably started that many or more in my life and they are all either forgotten or erased because I don't think they are good enough. So then I go on to another story, which I end up throwing out.

Dude, you sound a LOT like me (which is scary! lol) I too have probs finishing stories, am the ultimate procrastinator, and love French (though I don't speak it ).

I'm Wiggy, and I'm the current insane member here at YWS. *shifty eyes* Trust me, you won't even have to guess who's posting if it sounds like someone who's had too much sugar, because that is muwah! *boogies* What kind of stuff do you like to write? And please, stay on this writing site. It just rocks! The members are great, the critiques are fantabulous, and you'll make lots of great friends while being able to participate in lots of activities. There's actually a published journal (available on Amazon and in Barnes and Noble) that is coming out in January 2008. I'm so excited!

Ben and Jerry's is just delightful, don't you think? My favourite is Phish Food... Maybe that's why I have these unwanted curves.. Or blobs? I can't speak any other languages apart from English, a little bit of French and a tonne of sarcasm.

I have exactly the same problem as you for finishing stories. I think in the past three years I've started ten or so stories, got about seven chapters in and then got a new idea, so abandonned the other idea completely, starting another lost cause.

Never! Half Baked B&J fan for life!

As clichéd as it is, I write quite a lot of fantasy. But I also like just general fiction, sometimes dabbling in historical too. I mainly write for people my own age group (teens) since as a teen myself, I know what we pick up on, what we look for and whatever.

I'm starting a new Spanish class tomorrow, I can't wait! I really need to brush up on my speaking of the language.
