Okay so, I've been writing since I was like 7 or around there. I've loved books forever, I used to make up stories according to the pictures in my boks when there was no one to read to me. I read my first books at age 4 (the cat and the dog), and I've been ever since. I've won some awards for my writing, but I haven't won anything outright yet; I'm trying to. I have a writing internship right now with ComosGIRL! magazine which is a lot of fun.
May the words be with you...
You have a writing internship with CosmoGirl! ? That's awesome! What do you do with that? Like, do you email them things periodically, or do you go to their office and chat with them and such? *is interested*
Hi Amelia! I actually do the internship online. There's a bunch of us, ages 14-24 (freshman in hs to senior in college, basically). You fill out an application before June. We get assignments every week with deadlines and we have to write back our response. We e-mail the editors. Most of the assignments are for blurbs like the Ouch! moments (if you read CosmoGIRL! you might have seen these), and then sometimes we get bigger assignments for the feature stories. So, we basically get them info and sometimes check to see if the stories they already have aren't copies. I's fun. I found the application on their website. Anyone who like writing and is interested in journalism will love it. Sometimes it gets hectic (multiple assignments in one day, assignments due the same day), but it's a lot of fun. Stringers (as we're called) are on the internship for a year. I'm in my fifth month.
Hope this helps! What kind of writing do you do?
