Every day we all complain. We may not realize it but it's true. We are constantly, and unnecessarily, letting others know of your status. We are always telling someone about our problems. The thing that makes it a complaint is the lack of action we take to fix the problem. Every problem has a solution. All it takes is a little initiative and you can at least think of it. Everyone is so stuck on being the victim that they can't comprehend being the victor. Sob stories get so much sympathy; people monopolize them to get as much attention as possible. What I believe is the reason is the fact that when others see people doing better than them, they "hate". For some reason people feel insulted instead of inspired when they see someone else do something with their lives. "As long as we in the same place, at least I feel better about where I am," they think. Deliberate shiftlessness is ignorance. On second thought, it's not ignorance because ignorant means, "not knowing". Being shiftless is just plain stupid. And stupidity gives no one the right to complain. It's just as easy as getting up off your couch or porch or corner or wherever and make progression a priority in your life. Do not become comfortable in your misery. To do so is to deprive yourself from life. Even if you don't want to get out "the hood", don't stop others form trying. I think people use complaints as "pre-excuses" to why they can't do something. You got mouths to feed at home? Get a job! Selling drugs isn't the only way to make money. They won't hire a high-school dropout? Get a GED! The test isn't that hard. You don't have time to study for the test? You don't have a job, remember? You got all the time in the world. Bottom line is; complaining gets you nowhere but on other people's nerves. Nobody wants to hear that crap. So just get up off you lazy ass and do something with your life.
Sincerely, Damen Tolbert
