I'm a weirdo or at least everyone at school seems to thinks so. Everyone at school at thinks i am a weirdo because I read in entire too much and know about things that most people would not know about.

i think I'm a weirdo in a sense because my love of activities. I'm between a jock, a nerd and a goth. I'm a jock because i adore swimming and tennis. I'm a nerd because of my love of books and writing. Lastly I'm a goth due to my love of black clothing and hard rock music.

I'm a weirdo in the sense of taking more class then i need to graduate high school. over my four years in high School, i have take 3 different language courses: French, Spanish, and Italian.

Am i a weirdo or what?

No.
You're interested in many things - which is more then a lot of people can wrap their heads around :P

I'm called a weirdo a lot, but that's mostly with my Japan-infatuation. I, personally, take it as a compliment.

People either mock or fear what they don't understand.

It's considered a major compliment in my family to be called a weirdo.

There's this wonderful phrase I saw on some site or another - it's one that I'd love to have on a T-shirt. "You laugh because I'm different. I laugh because you're all the same."

It's like the Doctor says: "There's no such thing as an ordinary human." Those who laugh and mock at what's different from themselves are either afraid of you or too stupid to realize what they're doing, or simply going along with the crowd.

I don't go to school - I'm home-schooled - but I'll be going to school next year to take my A-levels, and that's giving me a few worrying, niggling doubts. Maalesh. :D

One thing I've found helpful is not to react. When I'm getting angry with one of my little brothers, if he stays cool and simply smiles when I tell him that he's the most annoying and insignificant thing on the planet, it makes me a whole lot madder. And vice versa, if he's mad with me, and I smile sweetly at him, he eventually gives up and goes off in a huff. What people want is attention and a reaction. Don't give it to them, and you have effectively clipped their wings.

Admittedly I'm not your average student but then who is? I didn't have the best of childhoods, in fact if I'm honest I was miserable at school but my friends got me through it and I'm forever grateful to them for that and many other things. Things get easier by the time you're older because everyone is more mature and only those who want to learn, who have some ambition are in school.

I'd agree with everyone. There's no such thing as a normal person.

It seems like you are a person with a lot of interests! That's awesome! It's a lot better than those boring kids that have no interests whatsoever. Anyway, just don't label yourself by what society tells you what you are, because nobody ever fits into those labels. Ya know what I'm sayin? =)

Cheers,

Vicky

OMG! You and I are like twins!

I'm between a jock, a nerd and a goth.

Me too...I'm big into gymnastics(you could have guessed form my name), I'm a nerd because I do well in school, (I have to or else I get kicked off the gymnastics team), and I write and read a lot too, and I love the color black, and wear the color a lot, and love rock music. But I wouldn't call me a goth though...more like a punk rocker :D .

I also take more classes then I need to pass high school. I wanted to take three science classes but they wouldn't let me. So I settled for two :) .

Don't worry about being a weirdo, there are a lot of people out there like you(like me!! :D ), and all of the things that make us weird are what makes us individuals!

hm.

i don't know why I am a weirdo in school.
I think its because I hang out with a huge variety of people. I have one good friend whose a punk/goth (and a great writer!), one friend whose bisexual, a few friends from my youth group, a couple friends who are scary smart (34 and 35 on their ACTs), and my boyfriend is just...crazy lol.

and I am NOT a jock, which probably also adds to my "weirdness" label. EVERYONE whose ANYONE in my school plays sports. and i'm a girl whose in good shape because I work out, and i'm fairly athletic, and i'm tall and thin - but i don't play sports. I'm like, an abomination. lol.
