Spoiler
Hey Tikaa, it's been a while! And you finished all the poems so quick, my I'm impressed. I was actually working on the review for interlude ii when I got this notification, expect that soon!
I know you said the calcium metaphor made more sense afterwards, but I thought I'd cover it for even more clarity. This concept is actually going to be tricky to not explain in non-nerd language but I'll try. Some substances actually can't enter the human cell, so they attach to the cell membrane and trigger some chemical changes. As a result of these changes, the produces more of some secondary messengers that do the job the substances couldn't do themselves due to being denied entry. So basically, the substances need the secondary messengers to function. Thus here, Irene needs Aiden to do the most basic things in her life - thus the metaphor.
Also, thanks for the typos and grammar mistakes, makes my work so much easier!
I think it's got a lot to do with how if someone cared for Aiden, they'd know where he was. If course the first expectation is extended to the family, and the sister amongst all as she's supposed to be more at the same frequency being around the same age. It's also her own concious nagging her that she'd have to pretend ie she really doesn't know something she should've. Basically, she's letting it eat at herself. Sad, I know. But pretty in life since she's the one to host the funeral, which is also a bigger pretend since there's no body or even proof that Aiden's dead. Obviously, you learn with time, why the facade was conducted.
Shooting wild arrows, are we? Someone's feeling like Anumon today. I can't say for certain (who am I kidding, you know how it ends by now), but it seems a little too far fetched to me. But it's sure interesting to jump to conclusions and see how far the dart hit! Here at least, I can say that Felix is referring to Aiden choosing him over the abundance of choice he had. A story for season 2? =}
Actually impressed with how much you catch on so quick, you'll have no trouble keeping up. (Wdym you're running ahead of me at the moment? Fr though, love a challenging reader XD)
Someone's coming off too accustory now.. What gives you the idea that the victim is the guilty party? For all we know, it was one of them and they're pretending to get a card themselves. I think I didn't cover it in the story but it's not all too surprising so I'll spill here- it was the work of your favourite Gia. Why? I think you can figure, the same reason she organised the funeral too. Doing everything to better her poor brother's life.
I'm sorry you feel this way! You know how poor I am with structure, seems like it's seeping into my poetry too now. But I guess it was bound to get complicated with so many characters involved and a poem doesn't give much room to work with, without killing the emotional appeal. I tried to add "" quotations but apparently they didn't work to well. Do you think different colors for different characters would work like you tried in WoS? But then again, you don't use them anymore except the Zoe purple, so there might be a drawback I'm missing.
Both are very good assumptions, you're incredibly good at catching things! I fail to see a reason to shun the former, but the later definitely has the bigger role here- if you look at the bigger picture of what the series is trying to portray.
You're really choosing to push down on this theory, but are you willing to die on the hill? Guessing the teasing is in reference to calling him names, which I find too innocent to be a straw breaker. After Felix began gaining interest in history and so deviated from the syllabus to fulfill his curiosity, Aiden become a little agitated as it made his job a little easier. So Felix joked he's a 'bookworm' of sorts who doesn't see outside the box. Around that time, Aiden gave up tutoring Felix. The card sender claims both of these are directly linked, and Felix agrees in guilt. It seems the mastermind succeeded. And of course, Felix would not really use the word angst. There is one suspect who's full of it though..
Both! She's using it here as a homage, but they're also becoming doctors together. They're the perfect couple like that, and you'll actually understand a lot more about her career and family as the plot progresses.
That's actually one of my favourite poems from the series, glad to see someone else also likes them as much as me!
It technically doesn't (being a noble metal and all), but shhh it's poetry. I meant it more as a symbolic or exaggerated metaphor, so take it how you will lol.
Everyone's only speculating at this point, but it's seems as the most probable explanation. Also, someone might've very clearly planted the idea in everyone's head- I wonder who it could be. Be cautious in trusting my characters, Tikaa, you never know what someone's hiding.
They are both legends, period!
Glad it does, I'll try to frame them simpler moving forwards.
Thank you, fixed that!
Yup yup yup! She also depends on Aiden too much- like for going out, reading her thoughts and just not to spiral into madness.
Ahh, technical misunderstanding! Not your fault, I guess this series was curated for a very specific audience. Nevermind, I'll try to explain titrating as simply as I can. Basically you take a specific transparent solution in a beaker. You add another pink colored solution in it drop wise. As one drop lands into the colourless beaker solution, it turns light pink. But isn't the end of the experiment, and hardly permanent. As you shake the beaker, color disappears. You repeat the adding and shaking, until at a certain you shake and the color doesn't disappear. Think of it like the breaking point, where the solution fails to adapt. If you continue to add the pink solution, the pink in the beaker darkens, a usually unfavorable result. It's basically a way to calculate concentration of one of the solutions, when that of the other is known. The breaking point is when both the solutions have completely reacted and we use that to apply in chemical equations to obtain numerical results.
Now the metaphor of titration. Basically, Irene is adding drops (burdens) until the color continues to fade (Aiden adapts to the added weight). Until one day, Aiden finally breaks as the colour doesn't disappear on shaking. But instead of stopping, she keeps on adding the pink burden out of habit and need of her own, quite selfishly. So until the color fades is a good thing because it means Aiden has adapted and can take some more demands from her, and she doesn't give up that chance too.
I never thought to place it so high, but if you say so! I don't know how much I can do about the scientific metaphor since it's so ingrained. But I guess I could add a few explanatory lines.
What do you think now?
The words in and out the strike through were very carefully chosen.
Looks like the perfect little harmless lesson to me..
Ta-da! One of the biggest reveals of the series! Thought it might be the most predictable with the bestfriend trope, but you're on the tail with another one ughhh
I'm leaning more towards the latter possibility, she's much to sweet to cause active sabotage. She might've pointed out that he doesn't look too happy when she's with her thought. Right or manipulation, you'll find out soon enough <3
Mission successful then! She's my favourite character for a reason =}
Lavender relationship- such a fascinating interpretation. I thought to put it as a relationship of convenience but this sounds promising too. Also , a lesbian relationship do be looking tempting! : hurriedly jots down notes:
It was consensual, but unfortunately, I don't think she's into girls. But then again, my own characters have tricked me before so I'll keep an eye out.
You got it right, all those family descriptions were to explain this very poem. And you'll get to know but the hospital isn't really new since her grandma made it. So it's at least two generations old. But getting rid of Aiden like that ohmygod Tikaa, you're devious XD
=)
A lot better than Aiden's parents and some real relationships today, won't you agree?
For once, this poet isn't using a metaphor :/
You got it right, Aiden has always been good to her. If his presence depletes Gia of love, I think it's more the fault of the parents than the sibling.
The fact that you're almost there, but wrong about one crucial thing, brings out the devious writer laugh in me.
Much love! <3
And the genius crashed xd
My you're always a step ahead of me, I didn't even think of infidelity! Guess that would make redemption almost impossible. Hmm, should I do it..
Lol the system here clearly isn't fit for a German. But don't worry, I'll find a logical explanation to this in due time! But also, there is a fairly simple one right now. The family didn't look as broken at the time. The father has just got a promotion and was in a really good place financially. The mom was also rising drastically in the acting industry and was secure enough to get a maternity leave for some time. She had also been a housewife not so long ago, so she could most probably handle it. On the outside, it looked good enough. But dad's job kept him more busy, and leaving the career acting that she had finally hit some luck in, hit her a lot more than she initially thought. She was suffering from postmortem depression and had little help, which made her miserable and resentful towards Gia. Also, the physical and mental exhaustion prevented her from ever getting back into acting, which made her feeling much worse in the end. Parenthood just wasn't for her, and that showed a lot after.
Everyone's not at their best with Aiden gone, but I guess the parents could be more comforting. Perhaps they're just a little too affected by the disappearance of their golden child? I agree they weren't the best parents, but I wouldn't count them out as good characters at their core.
I could spill, but it's the story for another day. I'll say this though- he thought things through a lot more than you give him credit for.
Come on, Tikaa, you should know me better than that. =}
Your insane ability to so easily guess what I spent days planning shall never fail to amaze me..
It was indeed the teacher's idea! The meeting isn't scheduled though, it's just Andrew bashing in on her when he feels like the secret is troubling him too much and his mind is about to explode. She just doesn't have enough screen time in this season to show up on the suspects list, plus she wasn't really directly involved so has managed to fly under the radar for now. You'll see more of her I promise, and I shall try to make you love every second of it!
Hmm, I was fearing this. I'll fix it somehow..
Basically, pretty much! The teacher gets the result for her students, so it was simple to manipulate. Plus people can get in on legacy alone like some prestigious opportunities irl, so they said it was simply that. It may seen complicated and unnecessary right now, but as I said, it's all a part of something bigger so please bear with me. And it's the former, Aiden earned med school on his own. You could say slipping up on the research opportunity heavily motivated him though- he couldn't fail twice.
I think you might need some rest for now, Tikaa XD
I loved this arc for her <3
Well she's wise enough to stay in full consciousness while talking to a stranger with romantic potential, but needs a push of encouragement out of her shell. Staying safe and still enjoying! Even drinking was a rather big step for her to tell you, for someone who didn't think she'd do it anytime soon (much less without Aiden).
Doesn't it seem fair though, given he was more at fault due to his absence from the scene? Mom was at least trying to raise the kids, despite her personal resentments.
You really seem to get your favourite well, but she might've had a bit of an ulterior motive hehe.
It
Well everyone deals with loss differently, but they all move on eventually. And the mother's happiness has more to do with how hard the marriage was particularly on her. And obviously Gia is more glad than Aiden was about the divorce, she was dealt the short end of the end stick while Aiden got to be the golden child.
I love switching things up, in pure hunger games fashion! =}
Well, consider it like this- everyone was too much dependent on Aiden and needed to sort their lives without him first. Aiden deserved to be free of the burden and appreciated rather than needed. Or you could take it the opposite way, that each of them needed to realise how important Aiden was to them and not take him so much for granted. And if you still feel it's a not so turn off events, remember time is rarely stagnant
She's an important character further later as well, I'm glad you liked her as much as I did. And to be fair, the ruse with Aiden kinda gave her confidence to finally stand up for herself!
There's certainly reason and intuition behind her mother's perspective, but that's pretty much it from an outside logical outlook.
Wrapping up this series in poems was so tricky!! I might make season 2 more of a blend between chapters and poems, but I won't promise anything just yet. You liked the plot though, that's win enough for me though.
Haha I guess the secret is out! You got me sweating with how early you guessed it XD
Love how you leave no Easter egg behind! He wanted it to disguise it as a the former, but definitely meant the latter. <3
Pretty much, Felix's father being a little strict was the main reason. But the boy had begun to use it as an excuse for pretty much everything.
Canopies are a metaphor for things fully grown and established ie straight relationships for Felix, yet he chooses a seed (a potential) of true happiness which may never even sprout, but is worth the risk. Your interpretation is pretty on point too!
Obviously a lover is most affected upon losing their mate. Their relationship is kinda the silver lining in this whole twisted world of complicated characters and treacherous plots. And his coming out is going to have a lot of consequences, you'll see =)
I so LOVEEEEEE your reactions.
Aiden isn't all bad or depressed of a person, or at least wasn't in the beginning. With how much he helped everyone, you should be able to imagine as the life he brought to everything. But life came crashing down and he couldn't catch a break for the life of him. He's also insanely unlucky in love, one of the important traits I let him borrow from him. But st least he has a prospect, but let's not go there lol
Bingo, how does the revelation feel?
Will fix that at once!
Read ahead, and you'll find out.
All I'll say is that you can have good intentions, while also being complicated. She's as rich of a character as everyone else, I think it'll take you some time before you truly begun to uncover all her layers.
Why would the police check there, if there was no record or relevance of it anywhere till after she went later to live there? For all they know, she got it allotted to herself after the divorce
And yes, it's where Aiden was hiding, and I've already said enough hehe..
More on it in the next season, promise! And if you liked this, you'll love what I'm about to do next even more. And merci Tikaa, compliments from such a skilled writer mean the world to me. Honestly, I just knew the ending and went with the flow with the rest with how tight I was with time. But now I have a way better idea to use all the plots and characters at my disposal for creating something even more interesting. Thank you for all your love, if not for the first review you left on here in the mid of NaPo, I might've lost all my strength to continue to finish it, much less make it sensible and good. And WoS really taught me how you don't need to stand by all of a character's decisions and traits to love them- I definitely stole that into my own. Hopefully you'll be able to tag along in this journey when I get the time to continue. Wish you the best till then!
I was especially intrigued by Irene needing a secondary messenger. I get the following part, that Aiden helped her get out of her shell more... But this messenger thing. I wonder what it means!
So basically, the substances need the secondary messengers to function. Thus here, Irene needs Aiden to do the most basic things in her life - thus the metaphor.
Also, thanks for the typos and grammar mistakes, makes my work so much easier!
I mean, why would she need pretending I wonder. Is this bc ppl keep pressuring her and she feels like she has to tell them something? Or is there something else going on?
I think it's got a lot to do with how if someone cared for Aiden, they'd know where he was. If course the first expectation is extended to the family, and the sister amongst all as she's supposed to be more at the same frequency being around the same age. It's also her own concious nagging her that she'd have to pretend ie she really doesn't know something she should've. Basically, she's letting it eat at herself. Sad, I know. But pretty in life since she's the one to host the funeral, which is also a bigger pretend since there's no body or even proof that Aiden's dead. Obviously, you learn with time, why the facade was conducted.
hmmm now that Felix phrases it like that I'm wondering if Aiden's gay and interested in him....
Shooting wild arrows, are we? Someone's feeling like Anumon today. I can't say for certain (who am I kidding, you know how it ends by now), but it seems a little too far fetched to me. But it's sure interesting to jump to conclusions and see how far the dart hit! Here at least, I can say that Felix is referring to Aiden choosing him over the abundance of choice he had. A story for season 2? =}
Also on a second reading it's painfully obvious that neither parent is at all concerned with Gia
Actually impressed with how much you catch on so quick, you'll have no trouble keeping up. (Wdym you're running ahead of me at the moment? Fr though, love a challenging reader XD)
So the guilty sent out cards. Is that the guilty party? I guess it's Aiden himself huh?
Someone's coming off too accustory now.. What gives you the idea that the victim is the guilty party? For all we know, it was one of them and they're pretending to get a card themselves. I think I didn't cover it in the story but it's not all too surprising so I'll spill here- it was the work of your favourite Gia. Why? I think you can figure, the same reason she organised the funeral too. Doing everything to better her poor brother's life.
Hm I think this poem isn't that well structured. Some distinction between what the characters say and what they read from their cards would be nice. The way it is now, sentences like And Irene is ridden of all her guilt kinda come out of nowhere bc I couldn't follow the trajectory of the conversation
Either one is lying abt the content of their card or it's a death of a thousand cuts situation.
Both are very good assumptions, you're incredibly good at catching things! I fail to see a reason to shun the former, but the later definitely has the bigger role here- if you look at the bigger picture of what the series is trying to portray.
The gay agenda is also making another move, with the new info that he kinda broke up with Chloe . Wonder if Felix teasing him might have been the straw that broke the camels back, then.... Not sure tho if Felix would use a word like angst...
Also are she and Aiden both becoming doctors, bc the medical terminology. It would also just fit if she uses it as a homage....
Both! She's using it here as a homage, but they're also becoming doctors together. They're the perfect couple like that, and you'll actually understand a lot more about her career and family as the plot progresses.
Ooooh look at Felix, using his newfound history knowledge to draw accurate comparisons! Atta boy!
That's actually one of my favourite poems from the series, glad to see someone else also likes them as much as me!
But now I need to think abt whether gold actually rusts or not ...
It technically doesn't (being a noble metal and all), but shhh it's poetry. I meant it more as a symbolic or exaggerated metaphor, so take it how you will lol.
And oha, what's this with Death taking Aiden's innocence? Is it bc Felix thinks he's dead or did something else happen that we don't know abt yet?
Everyone's only speculating at this point, but it's seems as the most probable explanation. Also, someone might've very clearly planted the idea in everyone's head- I wonder who it could be. Be cautious in trusting my characters, Tikaa, you never know what someone's hiding.
But I do like how he calls both Aiden and Mary legends :3
They are both legends, period!
I think the calcium metaphor works better on a reread :3
Glad it does, I'll try to frame them simpler moving forwards.
You either need an s on burn or on pipette....
Thank you, fixed that!
Is this Irene noticing that she's been a burden to Aiden, with all her personal struggles she shared?
Yup yup yup! She also depends on Aiden too much- like for going out, reading her thoughts and just not to spiral into madness.
The next stanza makes their relationship feel so sinister. Especially the line about only being able to lean against him when the colour faded. As in when he's grey and joyless...
Seems like there are a few things our girl is still hiding....
Now, I think the thing with the pink.... Medical experiment etc. that could have used a better explanation. Like if you could work that in this could've been your best poem so far!
I never thought to place it so high, but if you say so! I don't know how much I can do about the scientific metaphor since it's so ingrained. But I guess I could add a few explanatory lines.
Interesting to see that there's strike through in Irene's title but in a way to keep Aiden there. I'm not sure if that's intentional
What do you think now?
The words in and out the strike through were very carefully chosen.
Maybe it is. She sees herself as Aiden's or wishes she were (and then he goes ahead and burdens her right back with his last message and his phone
Looks like the perfect little harmless lesson to me..
Ohaaaaa she's been interested in Aiden all this time! Oh poor girl...
Ta-da! One of the biggest reveals of the series! Thought it might be the most predictable with the bestfriend trope, but you're on the tail with another one ughhh
So she's actively trying to get Aiden and Chloe to break up. Or at least fervently wishing for it. Oh if your best friend is sabotaging your relationship, no wonder if it didn't work out!
I'm leaning more towards the latter possibility, she's much to sweet to cause active sabotage. She might've pointed out that he doesn't look too happy when she's with her thought. Right or manipulation, you'll find out soon enough <3
Aww you made me feel so sorry for her. And she kept it secret too! Not wanting to ruin what they had. And also not wanting to lose the shoulder she relies on....
Mission successful then! She's my favourite character for a reason =}
Hmmmm so according to Aiden, Chloe was also in on the fakeness of their relationship. Maybe they are both gay and pretending and there is a happy ending for either Gia and Irene, with Chloe....
Ohhhh so that's why you made sure to mention Chloe's family like that, earlier! But the fact with the hospital is new, right? Ahhh oh that makes Chloe so guilty. That she'd get rid of the unwanted, and no longer necessary relationship by giving Aiden that.... Final.... Push...
You got it right, all those family descriptions were to explain this very poem. And you'll get to know but the hospital isn't really new since her grandma made it. So it's at least two generations old. But getting rid of Aiden like that ohmygod Tikaa, you're devious XD
Ohhhhhh the gay agenda, Alex! He loves someone else HUUUUUUH? XDD
=)
It does sound like they both at least enjoyed each other's company and got something out of the relationship. Only it's material and not emotional. That's something at least.
A lot better than Aiden's parents and some real relationships today, won't you agree?
Ah what a title. Either it's true or Gia feels so unloved (and I 100% understand her, poor thing)
For once, this poet isn't using a metaphor :/
Oh child, they really didn't love you enough and it sounds like, despite stealing all the attention, at least your brother paid attention to you
You got it right, Aiden has always been good to her. If his presence depletes Gia of love, I think it's more the fault of the parents than the sibling.
I really dont get the feeling that Gia is responsible for Aiden's disappearance. My bet is currently on desperation over something Felix said that made him think a love is impossible or... Irene.
The fact that you're almost there, but wrong about one crucial thing, brings out the devious writer laugh in me.
And this is why you should never hide the fact that they are adopted from your children. (oh yes I am v familiar with that right now xd) Like it really shouldn't matter, it shouldn't diminish the relationship with your parents that you already have-- but given how Gia already feels super neglected, being hit with THAT on top of everything. Oh my
Much love! <3
Wait wait wait SHE's an omen of destruction? Like Aiden?
Wait is Aiden even real? Is Aiden something everyone just made up to cope with the stress of reality: Gia for being a disappointment and Chloe for wanting a good bf what is going on *conspiracy brained
And the genius crashed xd
So bc they thought they were infertile, Aiden was such a surprise to his mom huh. ...Or maybe she did cheat on his dad? I wonder...
My you're always a step ahead of me, I didn't even think of infidelity! Guess that would make redemption almost impossible. Hmm, should I do it..
Well I feel like the Jugendamt would not have allowed two potential parents to adopt a child when they were both just gonna be neglectful of it. That was super irresponsible of the relevant authority.
And despite finally talking with Gia, the parents remain cold and detached. Generic platitudes instead of genuine care. They lost all my respect.
Everyone's not at their best with Aiden gone, but I guess the parents could be more comforting. Perhaps they're just a little too affected by the disappearance of their golden child? I agree they weren't the best parents, but I wouldn't count them out as good characters at their core.
I wonder if he knew...
I could spill, but it's the story for another day. I'll say this though- he thought things through a lot more than you give him credit for.
(He feels a bit obvious as a suspect but you never know. Sometimes it IS the butler)
Come on, Tikaa, you should know me better than that. =}
Hmmm maybe it is a positive lie?
Your insane ability to so easily guess what I spent days planning shall never fail to amaze me..
Hmmmmmmmm!!! It was "my" idea, huh? Who says that? The teacher or Andrew, it is unclear but I am, from the formatting, tending to think it's the teacher? But that would be weird since she doesn't show up on the character list... Or was the meeting her idea?
It was indeed the teacher's idea! The meeting isn't scheduled though, it's just Andrew bashing in on her when he feels like the secret is troubling him too much and his mind is about to explode. She just doesn't have enough screen time in this season to show up on the suspects list, plus she wasn't really directly involved so has managed to fly under the radar for now. You'll see more of her I promise, and I shall try to make you love every second of it!
Something is wrong with the grammar in this one: "However good student has his limitations"
Hmm, I was fearing this. I'll fix it somehow..
So... they lied abt Aiden being good enough for this opportunity despite failing a vital subject? Am I reading this right? “Saying I got you the spot from my influence” Is this abt him stealing the spot or him actively helping Aiden get into the medical field?
Basically, pretty much! The teacher gets the result for her students, so it was simple to manipulate. Plus people can get in on legacy alone like some prestigious opportunities irl, so they said it was simply that. It may seen complicated and unnecessary right now, but as I said, it's all a part of something bigger so please bear with me. And it's the former, Aiden earned med school on his own. You could say slipping up on the research opportunity heavily motivated him though- he couldn't fail twice.
Hmmm so Andrew thinks it might have been the fact that Aiden was forced into the medical field, I guess. Or maybe my brain is soup and I can no longer interpret poems. I just wanna experience the story, Alex qq
I think you might need some rest for now, Tikaa XD
she uses his phantom encouragement to do all the things—“It’s what you would have wanted” etc---but I agree with her final line, she did this for herself
I loved this arc for her <3
Also, you really made sure to inform us she exchanged numbers with the stranger while being sober. The whisky, she needed to join up with the gals XD
Hmmm it sounds like there is a bit more regret from Dad than from Mom here. I feel like if there is any reconciliation effort it will come from him.
Doesn't it seem fair though, given he was more at fault due to his absence from the scene? Mom was at least trying to raise the kids, despite her personal resentments.
It also sounds as if Gia really didn’t wanna leave home but now there is no more “home” so she might as well live in the dormitories. I wonder if she held back on that move because she always hoped to finally get a little bit attention from her parents?
You really seem to get your favourite well, but she might've had a bit of an ulterior motive hehe.
It
sounds like now the roles are reversed now, with Mom growing happier (despite the missing child) and Dad losing himself. Also Gia doesn’t sound nearly as enthused abt the divorce as Aiden did… *reads on* Or… maybe not? Maybe she is also happier abt this…?
Well everyone deals with loss differently, but they all move on eventually. And the mother's happiness has more to do with how hard the marriage was particularly on her. And obviously Gia is more glad than Aiden was about the divorce, she was dealt the short end of the end stick while Aiden got to be the golden child.
It also sounds that maybe it is Dad’s time to be a house-husband and Mom’s time to be the breadwinner and then everyone would be happy once more? Very interesting poem! This is definitely a contender for my favourite :3
I love switching things up, in pure hunger games fashion! =}
I don’t rly like the implication that all lives are just so much better without Aiden. That feels like a terrible message…
“Tone firm for someone lying to my face.” Well at least it sounds as if this impressed granny xd
And yes! Later conversation confirms this! I think I do like this old woman :3 She sounds pretty reasonable and it also sounds like Chloe didn’t need the ruse but more a strong show of character!
She's an important character further later as well, I'm glad you liked her as much as I did. And to be fair, the ruse with Aiden kinda gave her confidence to finally stand up for herself!
And oooh it makes so much sense that she gets her fear of her own grandmother from her MOTHER who was never good enough in grandma’s eyes!
There's certainly reason and intuition behind her mother's perspective, but that's pretty much it from an outside logical outlook.
I don’t really like the POEM aspect so I can’t make this my favourite
Wrapping up this series in poems was so tricky!! I might make season 2 more of a blend between chapters and poems, but I won't promise anything just yet. You liked the plot though, that's win enough for me though.
Oh Alex, “the love we had”, huh? =D Tsk tsk tsk!
THEY WERE DATING!! SECRETLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Haha I guess the secret is out! You got me sweating with how early you guessed it XD
THEN the “what does he see in me” from Felix’ earlier poem wasn’t just a “oh I wonder why he helps such a failure as me” and more a “I am such a failure and he still loves me”
Love how you leave no Easter egg behind! He wanted it to disguise it as a the former, but definitely meant the latter. <3
So, I guess Aiden wanted to come out and admit this openly but Felix was too hesitant?
Pretty much, Felix's father being a little strict was the main reason. But the boy had begun to use it as an excuse for pretty much everything.
Hmmm “In a world of canopies
I much prefer a seed” is this a reference that their love is so much more difficult? Or that the canopies/bigger trees represent all the girls he could have had as a jock but he still chose Aiden? Feel free to educate me XD
Canopies are a metaphor for things fully grown and established ie straight relationships for Felix, yet he chooses a seed (a potential) of true happiness which may never even sprout, but is worth the risk. Your interpretation is pretty on point too!
Well that is some person at least who has been negatively affected with Aiden gone? That said, sounds like he is openly gay now so maybe that is also positive?
Obviously a lover is most affected upon losing their mate. Their relationship is kinda the silver lining in this whole twisted world of complicated characters and treacherous plots. And his coming out is going to have a lot of consequences, you'll see =)
“As my plans do unfold tonight”…or maybe both?
The “save me” feels very urgent. Oh I am so anxious where this is going.
I so LOVEEEEEE your reactions.
“But I truly deserved more than this” I love this. That he immediately realizes that this is on Felix and not on him. It might not be enough to save him but ooofAlso I am so sad that he saw himself in the mirror and liked what he saw only in the context of knowing he goes to his lover. I bet if he were to look into the mirror now, he would have a very different feeling about the person looking back at him
Aiden isn't all bad or depressed of a person, or at least wasn't in the beginning. With how much he helped everyone, you should be able to imagine as the life he brought to everything. But life came crashing down and he couldn't catch a break for the life of him. He's also insanely unlucky in love, one of the important traits I let him borrow from him. But st least he has a prospect, but let's not go there lol
Ohhh did Gia know? Is this why her first poem was so vague on what happened?
Bingo, how does the revelation feel?
Hmm I don’t think I like the repetition of “see” here
Will fix that at once!
Maybe you could elaborate more, somehow?
Read ahead, and you'll find out.
Awww GIA my girl! You were there to comfort him!!
And he begs her for help! Now I wonder if Gia actively really wants to help him or if she does it, at this point, for herself? To improve her own standings? I really want to believe that she wants to turn Aiden’s life around too, by helping him here. That’s the strong impression I get!
All I'll say is that you can have good intentions, while also being complicated. She's as rich of a character as everyone else, I think it'll take you some time before you truly begun to uncover all her layers.
Also THIS: “Took the college dorms finally
After avoiding them like the plaque” Is this also when she comes to get Aiden?
Did the police not check there?
Why would the police check there, if there was no record or relevance of it anywhere till after she went later to live there? For all they know, she got it allotted to herself after the divorce
And yes, it's where Aiden was hiding, and I've already said enough hehe..
OR DID HE DIE? WHAT, ALEX! Explain! I am in awe of what you have built over these 30 days!!!!!!!!
