I have a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and currently work as an assistant professor, which means I spend a rather unreasonable amount of my life thinking about language. Outside the classroom, I am a literary critic and an obsessive reader. I love fiction, poetry, essays, strange experiments, and so on. I also write, which means I am painfully aware that giving criticism is much easier than receiving it. Perhaps that is part of why I enjoy both.
