Silhouette of the Night

I stand back in fear,
Looking at silhouettes of foes that appear.
In the silence of night and dead of dark,
Monsters lurk as fiends ready to embark.
That monster by my door and that monster by the window,
The shadows they cast are horned-pointy and clawed-sharply.
I take hiding under blankets to protect myself,
Little as it may be, this thin layer of polyester feels comforting.

I try to stand my ground but the shadows growl and darkness grows.
The light is out and only the moon illuminates.
My sweat drops from my chin to the blanket, seeping into fabric washed yesterday.

Finally, morning rises.
Those monsters of the night retreat, hiding in plain objects.
They hide as laundry baskets and gaps in between closet doors.
I survived another night of midnight horror.
The world needs more sparkles

the moonlight that came down

i want to be more
i want to be loved
is it too much to ask
for attention to bask in

im in no way comparable
to the radiance of the gleaming sun
or the cadence of its blinding stardom
reflecting that light is best i am capable

and yet i wished
for just even an ounce of affection
so i came down waxing
and commanded the nights attention

the dead of night was lonely
and the coldness of breeze dreary
yet it felt like home as
i saw people in small wander the streets

they too like me are less known
and sometimes even shunned from normal society
but that doesnt make them any less important
in the functioning of the worlds factory

though i can do no more than reflect whats there
and though im nothing more than a wax to wane
i will gladly sleep again being aware
that people will wait for the next new moon to shine again
The world needs more sparkles

Bon Sillage

I love you...
Is what I would say if I had the courage to do so.
I've struggled with words all my life; you know this.
So this one last look I'll have of your eyes before you go,
Let me cherish this moment and its ephemeral bliss

Departures...
They're things that I've never had an easy time with through life
When it's time for you to leave, I want you to leave with a smile, not a frown.
That way, I'll regret not of letting you go without strife.
If you shed even a drop on your leave, then in that water I'll drown.

Bon voyage...
As the last sun sets and the last moon rises
On your time here limited and yet never regretted,
I'll likely fall into despair on your departure, scattered into pieces.
And yet letting you go is a must that's been far too belated.

Your sillage...
That fragrance of you that I'm so used to
Made of cardamom spices and familiar home grown blooms
Everytime I cook, eat, sleep, or stroll around gardens I'll be reminded of you.
Your body will be long gone but your trace will still remain to loom.

I love you
I'll repeat those words over and over as I see your traces
Left so clearly in a hole carved out deep inside my heart and bleeds
I'll repeat those words over and over until my time on this place ends,
And then maybe then, finally then, we'll be together but till then I'll uncease to plead.
The world needs more sparkles

haiku about this month's napo

and this month I learned
that feelings are but fleeting
but these words outlast
The world needs more sparkles

Why should Caesar just get to stomp around like a giant while the rest of us try not to get smushed under his big feet? Brutus is just as cute as Caesar, right? Brutus is just as smart as Caesar, people totally like Brutus just as much as they like Caesar, and when did it become okay for one person to be the boss of everybody because that's not what Rome is about! We should totally just stab Caesar!
