Review Month 2025

...the time when YWSers come together to celebrate one of the pillars of YWS: reviewing! Whether short or long, full of analysis or reactions, reviews keep our site going, which is why we have a whole month dedicated to writing as many of them as we can. We have challenges, contests, hashtags, and super fun prizes to keep the review spirit going all month long! Be sure to subscribe to this thread to keep up to date with all the RevMo 2025 happenings!



Our very special username color challenge is a staple of RevMo. By writing a certain amount of reviews by the checkpoints, YWSers can earn super special username colors temporarily. The colors (and their checkpoints) for RevMo 2025 are as follows (with times automatically adjusted to your time zone!):


Week One Goal: 10 reviews - first deadline 09/08/2025 03:00 GMT
Reward color: tomato

Week Two Goal: 25 reviews - first deadline 09/15/2025 03:00 GMT
Reward color: medium orchid

Week Three Goal: 35 reviews - first deadline 09/22/2025 03:00 GMT
Reward color: deep pink

Week Four Goal: 50 reviews - first deadline 10/01/2025 03:00 GMT
Reward color: victory gold for the first two weeks of October

Team Tortoise participants: medium turquoise for the first two weeks of October

If you happen to miss a deadline, don't fret! Anyone who has reached or surpassed the corresponding number of reviews for a color by the next checkpoint will earn that color (i.e. if you've written at least 10 reviews by September 21, you'll earn a tomato colored username!)


Everyone who participates in RevMo also has the chance to snag one of these super groovy badges!

I have a question, didn't the Tortoise Race already happen back in like, June or something? Are we gonna do it again? If yes, Imma hop in

@TheRebel2007 great question! The Great Tortoise Race was a special event with extra incentives, but Team Tortoise actually occurs every month! @AlexWrites for example completed Team Tortoise in August. You can always track current participants by clicking the trophy tab and checking the column on the right. We would LOVE to have you in the current RevMo edition of the race! :D

If you're struggling to find enough to say in a review, templates like the famed S'more Method are all the rage! I thought I'd be fun to create a themed Review Month template to help motivate those of you who are working on RevMo goals. Here's what it looks like:

It's also very fun to create a review template that aligns with your own unique style and interests, so feel free to come up with one of your own to use this month and beyond!

So if I get gold AND tortoise, will my letters alternate gold and cyan? And will i only be one color?

@Messenger good question! In the past, for anyone who has both written 50 reviews and completed TT, we've made them just turquoise for the two weeks to make it easier on the mods. Alas, as of now, there's no easy way to have multicolored usernames.
