Welcome!

In this forum thread, I will post smaller poems that I feel do not quite make the mark to be a published poem. Some poems are really simple or short and since publishing takes 200 points, I figured I could post a few here rather than litter my wall with them!

Reviews and comments are not necessary in the slightest, but they are welcomed and greatly appreciated.

I may rarely post here, but at least I'll have a space to if I ever wish.
Hope you guys enjoy my work and feel free to check out my more fleshed out poems in my portfolio :)

fit in

Is my presence enough for the sun to shine a little brighter
For the moon to smile above and below, each way the head turns
Am I to be a hero, a villain, a witness, or the somber
No one ever truly fits into this world, it wasn’t really made for us, was it?

I think your style seems to be related to real life. The words used are not too difficult but easy to see and often used every day. Do you have a set style for yourself or can you write in many different styles?

Piano on the speakers

Piano on the speakers
Rain splattered and sparkled on glass
The moon sings it’s song while the living sleep
My tongue still, an unwavering silence
Except for the simple peace
Of the symphony of sadness surrounding me

Lilies

You stay up in the late nights waiting
While I sleep in a restful slumber gone

We’ve screamed yet I started them all
The fire you tamed left your fingers in ashes

A sorry or more isn’t enough to make us heal
I’ve battered your heart now it’s time to run

If only I wasn’t allergic to the lilies you brought
Because then I could be the one to accept your love

Cloud gazing

I looked to the clouds and saw a bear on a sailboat
I looked to you and saw someone who loved me earnestly
It must be the child in me that continues to search
For more than what is really there

My life, my loves, where are they now?
— Richard Linklater
