If you need books about structure and plotting, Save The Cat does a really good job at creating a roadmap for you to follow if you want to write a successful book. It is for screenwriting but you can use it for novels as well.

There's also Save The Cat! Writes a Novel if you think that a book on screenwriting wouldn't be of your taste.

Here's the links.

Yeah, totally! There's always Stephen King's 'On Writing', which is a classic. And if you're looking for something more contemporary, there's 'Steal Like an Artist' by Austin Kleon - it's hype!

Oh, I will definitely go with Save the Cat; it´s not perfect - nothing is - but it really helped me understand some things about my characters and plot. I also recommend Save the Cat: Writing a Young Adult Novel, which is Save the Cat but more oriented on YA (but the rules and tips can be applied in different genres as well).
