Lazy Days

Hush, little girl, don't cry.
I know it's hard to see
but you're not crazy for having dreams.

One day,
You'll wish for lazy days
When you all you had to do
to make your dreams come true,
was wish upon a star.

Summer days,
ice cream, pink lemonade.
Life was simple, life was sweet.

Don't wish your lazy days away.

All our dreams can come true — if we have the courage to pursue them.

Dream Girl

darling boy,
handsome prince
I'm here to tell you
your dream girl
she doesn't exist,
not really
she lost in a battle with her mind
trying to be
every one's dream girl.

All our dreams can come true — if we have the courage to pursue them.

In the Sky

Beautiful little mockingbird
in the sky so big and blue
bless us with your song.

flit and fly, little mockingbird
don't come down to be with me.
up in the sky
precious, you'll stay.

i miss you, little mockingbird
i do, but you're better off up there.

stay innocent, stay free
up in the sky.
don't come down to be with me.
stay up in the sky.
in the sky
and i'll be right
until the day i join you
in the sky.

All our dreams can come true — if we have the courage to pursue them.

Lovesick

Once upon a time,
boy meets girl,
girl meets boy,
they fall in love,
or so the story goes.
but this one has a different ending.

girl loses boy,
but she's realizing it's for good
and she's lovesick.
every time she sees his face
a smile, a kiss,
it all comes back.

she didn't know
loneliness could feel like this.
she's lovesick.
hopelessly lovesick,
and there's no doctor for this.
she'll be lovesick until the end of time.

All our dreams can come true — if we have the courage to pursue them.

Dear Daughter

Dear Daughter,
I am writing you
from a time and place
where everything's alright.
You and I have gone over the rainbow
to a magical time and place
where dreams always come true.
and love always conquers all.
Don't cry, dear daughter
everything's alright.
trust me,
everything's alright.

All our dreams can come true — if we have the courage to pursue them.

Cinderella

Glass slippers, pumpkin carriages
and handsome princes.
It all seems nice, doesn't it?
Cinderella, I wish I could tell you
that's the path you're heading towards.
But that's only a fairytale, only a story
to make everything seem okay.

to tell us that our existence
in this great big world
means something real.
princes can be villains,
stepmothers can be kind
and people can fall out of love,
and you and I could die today.

Cinderella, I won't say anything.
I'll let you keep believing in your dream.

All our dreams can come true — if we have the courage to pursue them.

Lights On

The lights are on
The music is low
The company dry
Conversation filled
With things
You can't relate to
Lonely in a crowd of people
Always lonely,
Always alone
While the lights are on
You are suffering
The whole world sees
But no one notices.

All our dreams can come true — if we have the courage to pursue them.

Who's to say that my light is better than your darkness? Who's to say death is better than your darkness? Who am I to say?
