seoyoung writes worst poetry ever (NOT CLICKBAIT!)
No matter how much time passes, no matter what takes place in the interim, there are some things we can never assign to oblivion, memories we can never rub away.

i. Do you know who you are?

On Fridays my father
volunteers at a kill shelter,
sitting with the dogs
on their last day. He leaves
trying hard not to think
about the needle, but
in the cages he becomes
a dealer. He knows
it's not his job
to save anyone.

At home, my father
sits on the back porch,
thoughts racing
like greyhounds.
He tells me he doesn't know
if he can keep going.
I tell him to stay,
but he doesn't.

"The trouble with Borrowing another mind was, you always felt out of place when you got back to your own body, and Granny was the first person ever to read the mind of a building. Now she was feeling big and gritty and full of passages. 'Are you all right?' Granny nodded, and opened her windows. She extended her east and west wings and tried to concentrate on the tiny cup held in her pillars."
